Fearless Keagan Mumba Dropped From U-20 Job

The Football Association of Zambia have given the biggest indication so far that Zanaco coach Keagan Mumba will still be shunted to the periphery of national football after overlooking him for the recently announced Under-20 team that will play their Under-23 colleagues in an Independence Day tournament.

League leading scorer Ronald Kampamba has been named in the Under-23 side which could in some way be pacifying the tension from his supporters who feel he deserved a bigger a call up in the national football set up.

FAZ, who have announced the two teams, have pushed through Power Dynamos coach Tenant Chilumba and Hector Chilombo to be in charge of the Under-23 while the Under-20 that Mumba has been head coach for two successive years has been handed to Oswald Mutapa and Bilton Musonda.

While there is no official word yet Mumba who ordinarily should have been elevated to the Under-23 job after Mutapa oversaw a runners up finish at the 2012 Zone Vi Games has crossed swords with FAZ for his fearless stance on football matters.

The game that will be played at Nkoloma Stadium on Thursday will be used as part of this year’s 49th Independence Anniversary celebrations.

“The U20 team will use the match as part of their preparations for the 2013 COSAFA junior championship to be held in Lesotho in December while the U23 national team will use the match to kick start their preparations for Rio 2016 Olympic qualifying matches which start early next year,” said FAZ on its social network facebook page.

The teams will be camped at Rainbow Lodge on Tuesday.

Being rude doesnt equal to greatness. Just because José mourinho is rude doesnt mean all rude men are great. Neither does it mean anyone rude will be a Mourinho. Nor does it mean Mourinho is great because he’s rude. He may be rude because he is great. So Keagan who is yet to show us how great he is may be putting the cart before the horse

@soccerfan2….you made my day….good grammar and vocab, I got you boy. However, point of correction Mourinho is not rude he’s just starightfoward talking and no nonsense caoch. If you have an ego problem you will not play for Jose simple as that. Same goes with sir Alex, ask Rooney for starters…only Manure fans think Jose is rude,,,well well what about your SAF…?? It’s evident in the results this year that SAF was arrogant and rude but spot on when it comes to his work. That goes for Jose, remember soccer players are humans, if you are not a strong character you will never succeed. Mourinho has succeeded because he’s astute, proud, rude, arrogant, a tactical genious and all that comes with his baggage. For this I love to watch any team Jose coaches day in and day out and am not a chelsea fan. He’s simpy great, and SAF has conceded to this fact that Jose is great! Interestingly enough is the fact that both Jose and SAF were able to manage one the world’s prolific strikers in CR7. So I would like to think that Keagan Mumba is also a good coach though I hear he’s full on tantrums but a good coach nonetheless.
