Finally Kalaba, Sunzu, Sinkala’s Passports Released

Home Affairs Minister, Edgar Lungu, has ordered the release of passports for three Zambian players plying their trade at TP Mazembe.

Mr. Lungu says there was lack of evidence that Rainford Kalaba, Stoppila Sunzu and Nathan Sinkala entered the Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC- illegally last week.

The Home Affairs Minister neutralizes the Immigration Department’s plans to further question the players on Wednesday morning, 24 hours after they appeared before the Immigration Department in Ndola for interrogations.

Accusations were that the trio in the company of their Zambia representative Andre Mtine ignored immigration formalities when leaving the country for DRC.

But Mr. Lungu says the report obtained from Immigration Department shows lack of evidence and does not warrant any action to be taken against the trio.

The Passport case turned sour when TP Mazembe President Moise Katumbi poured scorn on Football Association of Zambia-FAZ- who had called for the sanctioning of both the players and Katumbi’s club.

Meanwhile the immigration department has released the passports of the three TP Mazembe players who were accused of leaving the country through wrong channels.

Derrick Mulenga a lawyer representing the trio is pleased with the outcome of the matter

The gvt has failed to deal with the boys. Kalu, teach them a lesson so that others will not make it as a point of reference.

Just swallow your bride and say sorry to the boys. Who should apologize to who on this matter? Is it not you people and Mr Kambwili who should say sorry to the boys? Grow up and have manners. Learn to respect other peoples rights and privacy. Those boys were sick and you wanted them to go and play in China. Mwanyala woo!

Kambwili wanted the mailoni brothers to learn discipline and apologise for what they did. But Edgar Lungu comes and over-rules him jst like what he did to Bob Sichinga. Its like he’s vry good at overturning his coleagues’ decisions.

Is Mr Lungu a lawyer? What did he study? Were the passports stamped or not?

The matter was ably handled by Immigration and found the three players not guilty. Let it be water under the bridge.
