Nkana striker Reynold Kampamba is confident he can add to his 14 goals and retain his golden boot award.
The 21-year-old Nkana striker is one shy of equalling his tally for last season that saw him walk away with the 2012 golden boot award.
Kampamba has scored five goals in four games in October with a brace in a 4-1 win over third placed Nchanga Rangers on October 5 and later a hat trick by the same score line against struggling Kalulushi Modern Stars on October 15.
“I thank God for my good form at the club which has shown a lot of confidence and support for me,” Kampamba said.
“I was delighted with my hat-trick against Kalulushi and I believe I can score a few more goals so that I can retain the top scorers’ award.”
Kampamba’s goals have also helped league leaders Nkana stay in commanding position for the 2013 MTN/FAZ Super Division title and the clubs first league crown since 2001.
Meanwhile, the striker is hoping for a productive day with the Zambia Under-23 side in Thursday’s Independence Day junior friendly against their Under-20 counterparts at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Kampamba said he is also hoping the outing would also be the first step in returning to the national team for the first time since December 2012.
“Also what makes me happy is that I will be reuniting with some of the players I was with at under-20 level so this game means a lot,” Kampamba said.
