Govt Reverses Wage And Employment Freeze

The Zambian government has reversed the proposed wage and employment freeze in the 2014 budget, a move that has cheered Zambian workers but may not go well with with international financing institutions such as the IMF and World Bank.

Public workers were due to go on demonstrations against the imposing of a 2-year wage freeze.

Posting on his facebook page, Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) Leonard Hikaumba wrote “The meeting with the government is over. We have convinced govt to lift the wage freeze and open negotiations for next year. We thank the support we received from all the affected workers. As a result, the demonstration which was scheduled for Wednesday has been cancelled”.

Nothing has been reversed because the government did not implement wage freeze at all. They proposed in the budget and it had to go through. The PF is a listening govt and they heard and concluded that the gains will not match with the repurcations.

    So report correctly.

My friend if you have invested all your thoughts and ideas thinking that Hakainde will win come 2016, i can assure you then you will collapse with shock because whatever you’re cogitating about your Hakainde will never come to pass. Where will he get the winning votes to send him to state house come from?

Isaac you sound ****** all the time. Have you consulted voters about their choice for you to declare that HH will not be President in 2016?
Why is Sata scared of HH himself who is in State House unlike you who is based at Jack Compound.

That’s what you used to say during the run up to 2011 tripartite elections; Hakainde state house, hakainde state house but alas it never came to pass and most of us we knew that he couldn’t manage and signs and symbols and other indicators show that your Hakainde will again be vanquished. Unless if you telling me that in 2016 southern province will become Zambia otherwise i bet he will never manage even Chipimo will surpass him if your Hakainde doesn’t put his house in order. THE TRUTH IS AND THE TRUTH PAINS IS THAT HAKAINDE WILL NOT MANAGE!

Putting words in other pipo’s mouths will not work. Just accept that your Hakainde is not salable individual apart from where he hails from.Unfortunately, for some one to go to state house he/she needs the participation of all the ten provinces where your Hakainde has lamentably failed to spread his tentacles up to now.HAKAINDE GOING TO STATE HOUSE WILL REMAIN A PIPE DREAM NOT ONLY FOR NOW BUT FUTURE TIMES TO COME.

What is there to celebrate abiut these empty statements? Your GRZ didn’t allocate funds for employing and wage increments. So where will they get the money from? If this is a listening govt, can somebody in PF tell why
    1. No funds for constitution referendum
    2. No Windfall tax imposed on mines
    3. We have a bloated cabinet
    4. A serving president can push for his house to be built before FTJs, LPMs and RB’s
5.Create didtricts without secring funds first. Leading tobudget overrun
6.How can a normal leader be distributing a bank statement for an ordinary private citizen?

@Isaac, HH can rule Zambia my friend just like anyone else can do that….Look here I voted for PF and Sata and I regret doing so from the bottom of my heart….Come 2016 I would rather have anyone else in state housethan Sata….He has touched our stomachs and it hurts….Even in Management Maslov Hirach of needs, you will notice that food is right at the top followed by security…it means human beings are more concerned about the stomach than even security. After they have eaten and are full, that is when they think of security….now this crazy president of yours decides to touch mealie meal prices and you expect him to win with flying colours? You must be a joker Isaac and the rest of clowns here who are busy with “Sata this, Sata that and the other”.

TRIXY you voted for PF and you’re disappointed and you’re looking forward to vote for another party which is UPND. Am sorry my friend in 2011 your vote counted but it will not come in 2016 because your new choice of candidate will not make it even if you convince your wife and other family members to vote in the same line with yours. The problem you have is you’re terribly failing to read between the lines. Signs and some indicators are showing that Hakainde will once again drown in an abyss. A powerful Sata had to take ten torrid painful years to be where he is today. What more some one who doesn’t even know how govt functions,or how it feels to be a ward Councillor later on an MP?

@Jude, you said it right. HH is not mentioned in this article. I never mentioned HH either. Why are you rushing to mention HH? It means he is the strongest in opposition. Let me get this right, are you saying coz HH was never in Government before and has never even been an MP, then he cannot rule the country? What kind of thinking is this? So to you the only people who can rule the country are recycled politicians? I voted for Sata and I am disappointed with most of his decisions and I have every right to change my mind about him. Go to the grass root level and see how much poverty is in the country right now. Money is so hard to get and people are hungry and you tell me how Sata is gonna win again? If he reduces the price of mealie meal and fuel and hike other commodies which are not so important and if he stops his clown kind of management and intimidations, I will vote for him come 2016. For now I am not convinced.
