TP Mazembe have signed Zambia national team defender Kabaso Chongo from Konkola Mine Police on a four year contract.
Club Chairman Gideon Mwenya confirmed the development to Zambianfootball.co.zm in a telephone interview.
“Yes I can confirm that Kabaso is now with Mazembe, he has signed a 4 year contract with the club,” Mwenya said.
“I can not disclose the figures involved in the deal but I can say it’s a mutually beneficial contract. We have further agreed that Konkola Mine Police will get a certain percentage if the players is sold to another club within the contract period,” the Mine Police strong man said.
Despite the rift which seemed to have been created after the Club vs Country wrangle on the release of players for the Brazil friendly, Mwenya stated that his club and Mazembe enjoy a very good working relationship.
“We enjoy a very good working relationship with Mazembe and we do not have any issues with them,” he said.
Kabaso who burst on to the national team scene this year as a utility player has worked his way up to remain a consistent member of the Chipolopolo Boys and he won accolades for his assured performance against Brazil when he got the nod to start against the former World Champions.
He joins a host of other Zambian players at the Congo side who include Nathan Sinkala, Hichani Himonde, Stoppila Sunzu, Given Singuluma, Jonas Sakuwaha.
Others with link to Mazembe include Emmanuel Mbola, Luka Lungu who have all been loaned out.

HE WAS SOLD FOR ONLY $30,000. Zambian Players and clubs Hunger makes them think irrationally.
$30,000 is too cheap for a National Team Player trekking to TP Mazembe Mineral Rich team

Ba Mwenya when did Konkola mine police start enjoying good working relationship with TP Mazembe? N way am zambian i know what money can do to zambians.I feel consulting the mailoni brothers the truth about that club would have assisted konkola mine police and kabaso chongo to make a good and an regrettable decision.I think our FAZ should find out how our brothers are doing with TP Mazembe club.I feel some slavery conditions are applied on our boys,we might be calling them names and yet it’s us who are not assisting these boys.Lets hope we are not incressing the number of slaves in that club.

Iwe small axe,you need to put your facts 2gether and stop being tribalist and sanje yako iza kupaya.
Mbesuma in SA with orlando pirates get R 20000 per month or 2000 dollars, Sunzu with tp mazembe get 7000 dollars per month, where is it better? or the problem is DRC AND SA, most of our boys in SA are pourely paid no one complains, our boys in sa who didn’t play the friendly game are at peace and those in TP were in trouble though having similar reasons.
TP has a CV which no african club has, so you should just be happy for our boys, or you want them to be playing tenis in chamboli or kwa john laing, or kwa kanyama since mtendere and kalingalinga are better off. He was sold at 30000 dollars because he has no value but potential, so his potential is valued at 30000, how much most of the arsenal players were bought for?n GO BOY PLAY HARD increase your value, have sima pa table chapwa.

The correct salary for Collins Mbesuma is R200,000 per month. A good amount by African standards. Its good for the player. I hope all TP Mazembe players from Zambia can be paid good salaries and work hard.
