Pope Francis caresses a man suffering from a rare disease on Wednesday, November 6, in St. Peter’s Square.
Pope Francis, pausing for a moment to pray and lay his hands on a man with a disfiguring disease. The man gently burying his head in the Pope’s chest, his many facial tumors visible.
His encounter with the ailing man occurred in Vatican City on Wednesday at the end of the general audience, which had about 50,000 attendees.
Images of the Pope’s embrace in St. Peter’s Square went viral on social media.
“I’m an atheist, but the more I hear about Pope Francis, the more I like him,” Donna Hosie tweeted.
Some say Pope Francis is living up to the ideals of his namesake, Francis of Assisi, a preeminent figure who considered himself a servant to the poor and destitute.

It’s not as if the tumors disappeared after being touched by Francis Asisi. I bet that’s what the sick man was hoping to happen.

You are not being frank here, no were is it indicated that the sick was hoping to have his status changed! Read again please!

Who wouldn’t want to get rid of that horrible disease if they had it? Why would he waste his precious time and go on a journey to see a “pope” if its not for help? tsk..tsk..

You were insulting T B Joshua on the other article for being able to deliver someone now you are speaking ill of the sick man. What is wrong with you? You are from the dark world you are enjoying seeing others in pain. May God deliver you.

This Pope has a different approach to many issues affecting man and the world. He behaves and thinks like Jesus himself….. to live for the poor and the under-privileged. Last week we heard of him suspending an extravagant bishop somewhere in Europe, all in the name of serving the poor. God bless you Pope Francis

If we shared or lives with the less priviledged and maginalized in society, what a beautiful world we would all enjoy. There is more to kindness that spreading romours of WAR. This is the lesson of the parable by Jesus: “WHO IS MY NEIGHBOUR”? (LUKE 10:29-37). Let us Walk what we preach. God bless the Pope.

Please people, the least you can do is appreciate the love this pope is showing this man….What beats love? How many of you can hold a sick man with so many sores all the body like that? Its only a man with love for people regardless of who they are or what they are who can do that….That’s why I respect the roman catholic for their works in the community world….God Bless the pope and may this man be healed in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Papa josh, I can read u are the only Judah here who is against the will of the merciful God. Change my brother, appreciate what God does in the people u see. How do you claim to worship God whom you have never seen and forsake the brothers works that u always see? God is everywhere including in the people u are insulting who are doing Gods work. Learn something from this, I love u and God brings peace in your heart! Amen.
