Lusaka Musician Insults God, Sparks Outrage

EARTHONE, A Lusaka based singer from the singing band Ghetto Link has gotten himself involved in an ‘online war’ with Christians from different denominations following his continued scathing attacks on God and clergymen.
Earthone who is known in the music industry for the role he played in secular hits songs such as ‘Electricity’ claims to be an atheist (a person who doesn’t believe in the existence of God). He adds that he was born in a Christian family, went to church regularly and studied the bible but decided to quit Christianity because he felt that his church leaders failed to answer some of the religious questions he raised. He also claims that he became an atheist because he was certain that the Bible contradicts itself. The singer who is thought to be in his late 20s says he has been an atheist for the past 15 years.
Earthone, being an active ‘Facebooker’ has since taken to Facebook to register his misgivings about the Christian religion and its beliefs. Recently, Earthone posted a message on his Facebook page in which he charged that the Bible was fabricated and contained false stories.
In other posts which were reposted by Muvi TV on its Facebook page, Earthone goes further to blaspheme God saying if at all he exists, He is a bully, irresponsible and uncaring. In most of his posts, he questions why God says he loves mankind and yet allows wars, famine and other evils to torment innocent people.
“So, why does your Almighty God answer your prayers when you pray for a job, money, new car or anything at all but ignores all the starving children in the world?” he asks in one of his posts.
According to Earthone, believing that God exists is the same as believing that Spiderman or Santa Clause exists. He argues that Christians should not use the Bible to prove that God exists because doing so is not different from using a comic book to prove that Spiderman exists.
He claims further that all successes scored by an individual are because of that individual’s personal efforts and not God’s favour or blessings on that person. He cements this claim by saying that if personal successes were as a result of God’s blessings, how come many atheists are successful and yet many Christians live in abject poverty despite praying and fasting day and night.
But these blasphemous Facebook posts have not been received well by some Christians on the popular social networking site.
In response to one such post, Rabson Tembo, a Facebook user commented: “ You (Earthone) must be sick in your head. You need both spiritual and medical mental checkup. No wonder you are a failure of an artist.”
When reminded by Maureen Kahana that his claims that God doesn’t exist are not surprising because even the Bible says ‘the fool says in his heart that God doesn’t exist,’ Earthone arrogantly extorts a corrupted version of the same Bible verse saying: “A fool says in his heart, there is no God but the wise say it loud,lol!”
As the debate became heated with tempers flaring among believers (judging from the tone of their comments), one user Aaron Zyambo called on other people who were commenting not to continue arguing with Earthone but pray for him because he was lost.
Others lamented the fact that Earthone if not brought before the presence of God in the soonest possible time may use his fame and influence to mislead many weak souls loitering around Facebook and other social networking sites.
Later, Earthone commented that it pleases him to see Christians getting furious when he insults God.
“It’s fun to watch the God lovers bang their heads on the wall in protest. And where is your God anyway? He can’t even defend himself. I thought so, nowhere…..thats coz daaaaa, he doesn’t exist,” he commented.
Earthone who claims to be an evolutionist says he wants to become a Scientist because in as far as he is concerned, Science answers many questions which religion fails. He appears to have a distorted understanding of the creation of the world according to the Bible explanation. He also appears to misunderstand the role of Satan on earth because all too often he questions why God despite knowing that Satan was dangerous banished him from heaven and threw him here. He also admits to not understanding why God allows the devil to do as he pleases on earth. Further, Earthone has serious misconceptions about the holy trinity.

Earthone is one of the many who have been mislead and pushed to hate God by false religious teachers. He is talking from what he sees and the best is to respectfully show him how he can come to an accurate understanding of God. If you can read this, Earthone, please read a book entitled “What Does the Bible Really Teach?” published by Jehovah’s Witnesses. It will get you out of the mess you are in. It did me. As you read it, do not have any bias towards a particular religion/church or atheism. Just be balanced.

God’s great love has given time for any one to repent. Christians this is no time to be surprised at such, some one may not believe in the Bible yet it does talks about such people in the end times. Though the Antichrist is not arisen yet, his spirit is moving the earth and deceiving a lot. It is up to him who chooses to be used by him (spirit of the Antichrist). A once wise scientist said, he saw no wisdom in deny God’s existence and ends up to find that there is actually a God when its too late. One ought to know that once dead one can never make up for the lost chances. You loose nothing when you die and find out that there is no God. Yet you loose all when you die and find out that after all there is a God.

Belief in god and religion is retrogressive and backward. It impedes one to explore their full potential because they are scared of a non-existent hell. I think as early as when I was 13 years old I started to have my doubts about this god character and then when i grew older i read the bible and realised just how ridiculous it was. How does god say you have free will but then you are commanded to love him or else? there are a lot of disgusting stories in the bible that celebrate the killing of children and raping women and this is the being you say is all loving? am sorry to say this but i think people who still take the bible seriously and there are a lot of you, are quite shallow and that includes my own brothers and sisters and parents.

Earthone is the reason why God is delaying His Judgement…is so mercyful that he also want people like him to come the saving knowledge of God. Earthone my brother God Loves you so much. On the question of why God is not intervening in the earthquakes, hunger and other things that are happening. The answer lies in the bible….the bibles says in the end you will hear about wars , hunger, dieseases etc to show you that the end is near.

My brother one other thing that Earthone should know is that the world is in a state it is because of men like him (Earthone) people who do not recognize God’s sovereignty and keep on making decisions outside God’s word. We are yet to see worse things than this as long as people like Earthone do not come to the repentance knowledge of Christ. Wars are as a result of people who know no God.

I am a scientist and I believe in God with all my heart. Science teaches the facts I need to understand the properties and uses of the many different objects around me including all its people their respective diversity. Atheists (real and imaginary) are part of our extended social environment. The Holy Bible teaches me values and practicing what it teaches makes me a consciencious God respecting and People respecting entity trying very hard to accept the things I can’t change like losing both my parents, two sisters and three brothers due to rigor mortis (death), and ofcourse the time the sun rises and sets. 1) Where were you before you were born?
2) If you believe in Science, then why can’t scientists create a human being? (they make robots using materials which they didn’t create but borrow from the One they deny His existence.
3) Science says the creation was just a “boom” and here we are!!( birds, fish, fruits, humans, sun, earth, universe and the food you buy mu shoprite..) but who is behind all this variety? Why are you not a an ant or a bug or a tree or a leaf or a worm but a human?
4) Years down the line, you couldn’t articulate your grammar you posted, where did you get that knowledge?

Elo what also baffles me when am debating with christians, they rush to the same bible to pluck out verses to justify their reasoning. I do not believe in the bible so it makes no sense to refer me to verses from a book i find unreliable, full of self contradiction and celebrates murder. Get me information from outside the bible because believe it or not, there is absolutely no evidence of the existence of god outside the bible. the bible has been used as the primary source to create other literature.

Hi Called Wise, I have read your questions and in truth, most of them have already been answered by our scientists. That is why they are able to build things like rockets and satellites because they do intensive studies and based on the results, they go ahead and build things. Did you know that the bible says the earth is flat? This has been disproved by science. Let me ask you some questions of my own:
i. The bible say’s that God knows our innermost thoughts and intentions, so if this is the case then why is he constantly testing peoples faith in him? In fact the bible takes it a step further by stating that “16 Your eyes could see my embryo. In your book all my days were inscribed, every one that was fixed is there.”(Psalms 139:16 NJB). Before you are born and formed in the womb he supposedly knows you and according to this scripture your days on earth are fixed. With this text alone you can forget about free will and living day by day because God has your days planned out in his daily planner. So what’s the whole point of praising him and testing you when he already knows the results? The standards in the bible cannot be attained by humans because we are all flawed. The bible in it’s literal sense calls for the killing of children who disrespect their parents, the killing of those who work on the sabbath and the killing of all those who proclaim other gods, what nonsense is this??
