Police are closing in on people involved in the brutal killing of a suspected bandit of Lusaka’s Kalingalinga Compound.
Zambia Police Service Public Relations Manager Charity Munganga Chanda says although 21 year Simeon Lianvwa Phiri was a wanted suspect, residents should not have taken the law into their own hands.
Ms. Munganga says Phiri is alleged to have stolen money from one of the community members before a mob descended on him.
Meanwhile relatives of the suspected bandit are appealing for justice to prevail over the matter.
On Monday night, several Kalingalinga residents brutally killed Simeon Phiri
after rounding him up at Shapis bar in the area subjecting him to an instant mob justice.
