Now Prof Chirwa Denounces Kapeya, Atanga Says ‘Kapeya has a small brain & Is a Failure, Atanga Is a Cadre’

And Prof Chirwa says chief government spokesperson Mwansa Kapeya has “a small brain” if he cannot see what he achieved within the three months he was at Zambia Railways.
Prof Chirwa, who is facing charges of abuse of authority and failure to disclose interest in the courts, on Thursday said he would renounce his Zambian citizenship should the government fail to release his passport to enable him to travel to see his family in the United Kingdom.
He vowed never to return to Zambia, saying he was being persecuted.
But Kapeya said Prof Chirwa was free to renounce his Zambian citizenship and go anywhere he wants.
And defence minister Geffrey Mwamba, who is acting home affairs minister, yesterday said it was premature and completely unnecessary for Prof Chirwa to contemplate renouncing his Zambian citizenship.
Reacting to the two leaders’ statements through a press briefing at InterContinental Hotel in Lusaka yesterday, Prof Chirwa vented his anger on Prof Atanga, accusing the latter of going “behind the skirt of his wife Bridget Atanga, who is PF deputy secretary general” to grab the job from him.
But Prof Atanga refused to respond to Prof Chirwa’s allegations, saying he does not comment on such matters, while his wife said she would comment later.
“This man has been a failure all over the place. He’s been in the mines, he was sacked and he was called a ‘general’ because of his incompetence in management. He was the CEO at Competition Commission; he was sacked there too. He started selling insurance using his briefcase, pounding the whole of Cairo Road and he was sacked there too. He calls himself an academic; can he show me where his PhD is because he has got no PhD and he is calling himself a doctor. Because of the big ego he has, he now calls himself a Professor. He tells himself that he is a graduate from Harvard University; nobody remembers him,” Prof Chirwa alleged.
He said Prof Atanga was a mere cadre.
“He has gone behind his wife’s skirt because she is a deputy secretary general of PF and that’s what it is, nepotism. Somebody has been playing a big hand to get me out of that job, and on hindsight, I know who. How can a person who is a PS, my boss, accept a junior job? It will take many years before Zambia Railways comes to fruition because there are no plans, no vision,” Prof Chirwa said.
And on Kapeya’s comments that he had failed the Zambian government, Prof Chirwa said he was so successul that Kapeya could not be compared to him.
“I want to reply to Mr Kapeya… you have a small brain if you did not see what I did within three months at Zambia Railways. What I did within three months is enormous. I produced the plan which they are using to do their rehabilitation, I prepared all the plans, I safeguarded the US$120 million which people wanted to move somewhere else, I protected the people who did not have contracts, I prepared contracts for every single employee within ZRL. Mr Kapeya, where am I a failure there? I am an extremely successful person that Mr Kapeya cannot be compared to me. He is too far,” he said.
Prof Chirwa also said he was not blackmailing the government following defence minister Geoffrey Mwamba’s statement.
Mwamba, who is acting home affairs minister, told journalists yesterday that the seizure of Prof Chirwa’s passport was not done to frustrate or persecute him as it was one of the conditions for his bail.
“I have no doubt that Prof Chirwa’s passport will be returned to him once he has been cleared of wrongdoing by the courts of law… In the meantime, it will be vital to exercise some patience to allow the due process of the law to take its course,” he said.
Mwamba said the government was determined to fight corruption at all levels.

I didnt know that Chirwa is this stupiid. Why coming so hard on Atanga? You thought Zambians are as dull as they were before yu left the country…..even a grade 2 can not do what yu did…giving your company a contract without declaring interest. Now yu are even insulting the authrity…careful yu may comment about fire (HEMCS) and you will be burnt before yu even relocate to hell

It’s silly to accuse Muyenga Atanga of faking his qualifications because during my graduation year at MIT in Cambridge, Muyenga was in his first year of graduate school at HBS in Boston. Both these schools are in the greater Boston and I know Muyenga very well. To therefore slander him like this is stooping way too low, especially coming from a Soviet Union educated Malawian quake who set out to loot Zambia railways but was caught pants down with his stinking hands squarely in the public coffers.

None of you baggers here are engineers and most of u dnt knw shit..leave prof chirwa alone..u can’t match his papers or his cv..if u were nt complainin payin heavy learner 500000 for teaching p.e, why shud u complain if prof wantd more? And dnt tell me abt mother zambia coz whetha u like it or not, others are still making millions in their companies.. If his crime is having an undeclared interest, we fired him already.. Let him go and not persecute him like we are doing…we shud have let him finish his project and judge him based on the work not like this… We can’t go anywhere as zambians if all we are good at is talking and making people fail..

Clive Chirwa has some valid points. The truth is that Muyenga Atanga has no PhD. At Harvard, he was on a one year management development program; he was not doing g a doctorate there. If he has a PhD, he must indicate the university he obtained it from ,the title and topic of dissertation research and the year he was awarded the doctorate. At the University of Zambia, all lecturers are required to deposit copies of their dissertations in the University Library’s Special Collections. In addition, all genuine PhD dissertations can be googled on the internet. Where can one find Atanga’s PhD dissertation?
Atanga must also explain how he suddenly became a professor. One can only become a professor at an established university on promotion from the position of lecturer. Which university promoted him to professorship? I know he was a part-time lecturer at the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) some years back? Is it MANCOSA which gave him the professorship? Please let us not cheapen the doctorate qualification or the position of professor by calling every charlatan a Professor or Doctor!

This is the first time in my life iam hearing of a professor dissing another person in this way. I thought the educated never sank to the level of uneducated prostitutes. Sata really made a big mistake to employ this Chirwa guy. My respect for him has just evaporated!

Sure I think after Chirwa was fired from ZRL the public no longer know where ZRL is heading to. In short we do not know where Atanga wants to do? Visonless
