Patrice: I am Still Chipolopolo Assistant Coach

Stand in Chipolopolo coach Patrice Beaumelle says he is still national team assistant coach.

Beaumelle told bolazambia.com that he was yet to sign a contract as head coach.

“I don’t know when I will sign, we have discussed (the contract) but there is no date at the moment,” he said.

He said he was still on the contract that he signed as assistant to former head coach Herve Renard.

“It’s too early to say that (if he would appoint Chintu as a permanent assistant coach) because first of all I didn’t sign my contract am still assistant as per contract, so I cannot take any assistants because at the moment am contractually an assistant,” Beaumelle said.

The Football Association recently made a public announcement that they had elevated Beaumelle as head coach.

Prior to Renard’s departure the duo signed a one year extension just after the disastrous 2013 Africa Cup ejection that ends next year in August.
