Sad: Mandela’s Widow Graça Machel Under Threat as Bitter Rows Erupt Over Madiba’s Money

A raging war has broken out in Nelson Mandela’s family.
Its members are fighting over his estate and are moving to kick out his widow, Graça Machel, from the house she shared with her late husband.
The past six months have been a nightmare for Machel as the world’s beloved statesman lay dying.
She has endured rejection and abuse from some members of the sprawling Mandela dynasty.
Six sources inside and outside the Mandela household have told City Press that:
»Machel was told by members of the Mandela family that she should leave the Houghton home as soon as Madiba died;
»There was a massive row in the weeks before his death between Machel and grandson Ndaba in which household members had to intervene;
»Mandela’s eldest daughter, Makaziwe, often refuses to speak to Machel; and
»Makaziwe has verbally abused staff and repeatedly insisted she alone will determine how to divide the spoils of Mandela’s estate.
Attempts to obtain any comment from the family were unsuccessful.
Voice, text and Facebook messages, as well as emails, went unanswered as were questions sent to Makaziwe and Ndaba Mandela through their lawyer on Friday.
Machel’s personal assistant said the widow could not comment because she was in mourning.
The feuding and tension is over two issues–control over the Mandela legacy and control over his money.

    God, just take all of us to where you are.it seems earthly property has disturbed us. what is of importance- the legacy or the money.who is mandela as compared to jesus christ with regards to property.those grand sons and daughters must be thinking of eternal life(is it in paradise or hell). the legacy or money must be substituted with the bracketed words.my father died and i continued with education and not legacy or money.

    Its unfortunate if thats true. We all looked at Madiba as the solution to many problems affecting the continent. Pls leave the widow alone and keep the name of Madiba clean. He loved tMicheal and what is left is hers and she has a biger say. RIP Madiba and Mama be strong..

    Useless Grandsons and useless Makaziwe who endured failed marriages.

    Winnie is also in the background through her daughters when she was even divorced by Mandela. That was explicitly revealed even during burial.

    Did Mandela leave a will???? Vultures circling Mandela’s legacy and body!!!

      This is what happens to marrieges in old age. At 80 years what did he want a woman for especially that he wan an icon to the world and his country, he should have remained unmarried till death as not to complicate things or marry but with conditions to safeguide his family property. This is what will happen to our KK if he remarry again, the woman will come and claim even the house built for him by the state, be alert Panji. Graca wants to inherite twice her children have already benefited from their father in mozambique and let the children to mandela benefit from their father who never was there for them during their growing.

    What has this got to do with Africans or people from Luapula? It is human nature to fight over money, every race has people like that. However, this story has no truth in it. If the reporters could not confirm the story, why did they go ahead and publish it?

    This makes a very very sad reading.Madiba suffered for 27 yrs in prison, he suffered in marriage for good 4yrs and he suffered for 12 yrs to solve family problems and he suffered 9 months on his death bed.even now his bones are still turning in the grave .The only happiest thing that happened to Mandela was Graca Samora according to me. please Mandela family let our hero rest in perfect peace.

    Madiba has left a will with his lawyer, George Bizos. The savage family vultures fighting for his legacy and cash will kiss dust. So, people, relax, Madiba took care of his assets and has apportioned them equitably according to his will. Wait. Watch the space.
