Kamanga: I am Not Interested In FAZ Office

By Musonda Chibulu

Successful businessman Andrew Kamanga says he has partnered Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) to run Power Dynamos out of the love to develop Zambian football.

“I get surprised that at the mere mention of my name some people get jittery,” the former Kabwe Warriors strongman said with a chuckle.

“One does not need to be in the FAZ executive to help develop our football. I am not interested in being in FAZ.”

Kamanga revealed that his interest in getting involved with the 1991 Mandela Cup champions stems from 13 years ago.

“As early as 2000 I had plans on the table to invest in Power Dynamos. In fact, I had presented a similar plan to Kabwe Warriors.”

Kamanga said he had communicated his intention to leave Warriors in June this year.

“I served Warriors faithfully for six years. I felt time was right to let other people with fresh ideas to take over.”

Kamanga further disclosed he had made and presented proposals to pump money and revive a named legendary Division One side.

“In fact, when I made the proposals I was offered a top top Super Division team. I said “No” I need a club where I can start from scratch. I am also looking at the possibility of a Division two club.”

“To develop football I do not need to be at the Football House.”

Kamanga and acclaimed media sports consultant Ponga Liwewe are in the new Power Dynamos board after the partnership.

That is as it should be. There are people who are always on the negative. If it is desired by the people that at some point you get into football house, well and good. Know that there are people out there who have followed and believe in your capabilities as an administrator.

Iwe kamanga if you really want to develop football in zambia why did you leave warriors or why didn’t you start with a team from division 3? because there are many teams which need such assistance but instead you chose power dynamos which has already a sponsor and financially stable. Are you telling us there are no people in Kitwe who can run power dynamos. To me you are not after developing football but something else
