DEC Nabs 13-year-old Pupil For Trafficking In Cannabis

The Drug Enforcement Commission in Southern Province has arrested a 13 year-old female Pupil for trafficking in cannabis.
DEC Public Relations officer Theresa Katongo says the 13 year-old juvenile of Moono village in Mbabala area in Choma District has been arrested and jointly charged with her parents Envy Hangoma, 37 and Richard Simwambwa, 47, both peasant farmers of the same area for trafficking in 92 balls of cannabis weighing 1.020Kg.

Meanwhile, the Commission has in the last 6 days arrested more than 30 people country wide for trafficking in various quantities of cannabis.

Ms Katongo says among those arrested is Sydney Harawa, 31, a brick layer of kantanshi area in Mufulira for trafficking in 7.2Kg of cannabis, Darrel Ngandwe, 20, of Mpatamato in Luanshya for trafficking in 5.12Kg of loose cannabis and Cephaus Musambo, 24, also of Mpatamato area in Luanshya for trafficking in 4.002Kg of cannabis.

Others arrested include Jonathan Kakungu, 32, of House No. 414 Bwacha Compound in Kabwe for trafficking in 3.4Kg of cannabis and Davies Musukuma, 22, of Kawama East in Mufulira for trafficking in 1.8Kg of cannabis.

All Suspects will appear in court soon.
