Following government’s decision to recruit 305 nurses, some newly recruited nurses have started reporting for duty at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
This is in an effort to cushion the human resource deficit at the hospital following the dismissal of some nurses who had illegally gone on strike.
UTH Managing Director Lackson Kasonka has told Hot FM News that although the number of nurses deployed is not adequate to cushion the deficit, it will help the hospital resume operations especially that most critical wards were shut down.
Dr. Kasonka has however emphasized that more nurses should to be recruited at UTH so that full operations resume.

In 2015 more recruitment of nurses, teachers, police officers, and others, also reintroduction of fuel and maize subsidies and compaign widely pointing at clinics, roads, schools, stadia and others and after voting they go into next term and stabilise for the next 20 years! This is great lesson to other servants of the nation. People must learn to be responsible for their actions. There are so many more educated graduates more than nurses themselves who are strugling to get a Job. some are more hardworking and more dedicated in their work but cant find a decent Job. Nurses get more money but mainly provide harsh services to the society. Its not all about money. A nursing Job is a calling which should have been taken more seriously. To get a Job in goverment is a good oppurtunity that they missed.
If they were being influenced politically then too bad they were blind.
Sorry, just apologise and repent to God Almighty through Jesus Christ for your actions and he will make a way for you.

Faithful, why did HEMCS cheated nurse that they have given them 200% salary increment, when not? Why did Fackson ‘Fackwell’ Shamenda cheated nurses that their salaries would be rectified to promised %? PF is a government of liars for liars, by liars. PF promised to reduce tax. PF promised to put more money in people’s pockets. PF promised reduced costs of Mealiemeal. PF promised a New Constitution in 90 days. PF promised more jobs to youths. PF promised increased number of fertilizer bags to 15. So Faithful, tell us bloggers which of these promises have been fulfilled by PF. In case you do not know, NONE of these have been addressed positively.

PF will reinstate fired nurses very soon with arrears, mark my words. If PF fails to do so, the next government sooner or 2016 will reinstate them unconditionally and pay them arrears. I want to urge all fired nurses, relatives, friends and sympathizers to conduct door to door De-campaigning of PF regime to crumble down perfectly. This government is a total failure. Just today it has failed to give Zambian a New Draft Constitution. Shame! Shame upon Shame in Zambia!

It was wrong for nurses to go on strike. They were suppose to negotiate and talk to the Government through their union. We lost lives during this period. These are essential workers and nursing provision is a vocation/calling.We have to save the lives of people.I would like to urge Government to look into the issue of all the essential workers.

Despite the nurses behaving in such manner,i would like to appeal the His Excellency The President to intervene on the matter of the nurses and reinstate the nurses. We are in 2014 and we have to look at forgiveness.AS we celebrate the gold jubilee as country we need to have responsible.Responsibly should be the song of every one.
