ZANACO Football Club chairman Edward Mutale says the team’s performance in the 2013 season was below average.
Mutale said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that the 2012 Super Division champions were a let-down.
He said there is need for the team to perform to expectation next year.
Zanaco finished fourth with 49 points, 10 behind champions Nkana.
“The team failed to retain the title in 2013 and that performance to me is below average. We hope to do better in 2014,” Mutale said.
And Mutale said the team’s performance will be reviewed this month by the executive and Zanaco Plc management.
Mutale said during the same meeting, the two parties will review the performance of the players and the technical bench led by Keagan Mumba.
Mumba is currently on suspension for allegedly insubordination.
“The meeting will look at the pros and cons for both the team and the coaches performance after which a resolution will be passed,” he said.
