Posthumous Alubusu Albums Set For Release

G SOUNDS Promotions is this month expected to release Alubusu’ Mokomoko CD, over a year after the singer’s death.
Alubusu – born Albert Silwimba recorded the nine-track album and another gospel project called Nisuke Yesu before his tragic death in a car accident in November 2012.
G Sounds director Peter Kambole says his company is interested in seeing Alubusu’s memory and music kept alive.
He told the Weekend Post that G Sounds also decided to adopt the gospel collection produced by Trick Star in order to market the albums before a double launch scheduled later this year.
Kambole said Alubusu, best known for his hit Bwela Panyumba, was one of the few singers that took contemporary Zambian music to another level.
He added that proceeds from the albums would go to the late singer’s family which had given G Sounds the exclusive rights to market the two projects.
He also implored corporate institutions to sponsor the double album launch set for after the rainy season this year.
Kambole believes corporate entities with good social responsibility programmes have a role to play in improving the quality of Zambian music.
Among songs on Mokomoko are Chikondi Chaneo ft Tsouya, Mabonzo, Muzako wazoona and Takuya babwela. Alubusu, 38 died in an accident on the Mongu-Kalabo Road in November 2012.
