Zambian Musician General Kanene Found Guilty Of Defiling 14yr Old Girl
Popular Musician Clifford Kanene Dimba alias ‘General Kanene’ has being convicted of defiling a 14-year old girl.
The charge was that Kanene on unknown dates but between January 31 and February 1, 2012 in Lusaka had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.
He denied the charge and asked the Court to acquit him of his defilement charge because the age of the victim was not established beyond all reasonable doubt.
But Friday afternoon, magistrate Kaoma found Kanene guilty and remanded him to await sentencing by the High Court.
Defilement cases are tried by magistrates but sentencing is done by High court judges because the maximum sentence goes beyond the Magistrates jurisdiction. The maximum sentence for defilement is 35 years.

too bad for kanene bcoz these kids are liars and trappers,and how did she find her self with kanene anyway?coz the guy is sarounded by pipo but she managed to isolate him mama ne o aba bana!!!!!so she looks 20 and drinks beer at 14 years and looks inocent at home,so sorry kanene mr pipes know these smart dum girls.infact kanene may not be the first one she may not even be a virgin its just a deal gone wrong……………

Ningavale bwanji saizi 1 ine saizi 9? Now the chap says the age cannot be proved beyond reasonable doubt! This to sounds like a confession but he conveniently “THOUGHT” she was above 16. Who can you fool, iwe Dimba? Remember your song in which you talk about Chimudala? Alas! You are the Chimudala. Most of the songs Kanene sings about what he and his cohorts do. Infact, he even asked God to recreate him and is it Mark 11. If he is guilty let him serve the full stretch as he is an enlightened person who knew exactly what he was doing. Besides, he is a social commentator who is supposed educate others.

ma stories yapaka manje.how can a 14yr old be in grade 11?she s supposed to be in grade 7, but hw cn the general fall for such a gt?never propose to a grade something regardless of hw old they can be, not even repeaters or mature

This is indeed a sad development just like it was a sad development when he slept with the girl.It does not matter whether the girl was a virgin or not,The fact is that the girl is under age whether proven or not. Ofcourse there are some technicalities in this matter such as 14yrs and in grade eleven but all the same,its shamefull to go for school girls. As a parent,i feel minimum sentence should be 35yrs and no suspended sentence of any nature should be toralated if there is such a clause.

I am not so sure as to which law book the maximum sentence for defilement was extracted. According to our penal code, section 138(1) (As amended by Act No. 15 of 2005) cap 87 of the laws of the Republic of Zambia, ” Any person who unlawfully and carnally knows any child commits a felony and is liable, upon conviction, to a term of imprisonment of not less than fifteen years and may be liable to imprisonment for life”. This to me shows that the minimum is fifteen years and maximum is imprisonment for life. Can someone prove with authority that the maximum is thirty five years in accordance with Zambian law.

It’s a very big disappointment to our star so called kanene pretending to educate thus hiding the evil you do in music..it’s shameful I just hop u get the maximum sentence if at all u are very guilty..
