Fr Luonde: It’s a Sin And Evil to Call Guy Scott a Colonialist
ANGLICAN priest Fr Richard Luonde says it is evil for UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to refer to Vice-President Dr Guy Scott as the only remaining colonialist.
In an interview, Fr Luonde said Hichilema was being racist, something he said should not be promoted.
Hakainde last Wednesday racially attacked Vice-President Scott, saying he was the only remaining colonialist.
“Guy Scott is a Zambian who has grown up in Zambia and he should be allowed to exercise his freedom of expression. To begin to use the language which is provocative and segregates against individuals cannot be accepted in a modern Zambia. We should live in harmony. As a person who is educated, he should not utter such words. He is inciting people to rise against certain sections of society,” Fr Luonde said.
He said it was unfortunate that current politicians were rooted in politics of tribe and regionalism.
Fr Luonde said the promotion of regionalism and tribalism in politics was bad.
“What is coming in could easily break up this nation and lead us to a civil war. Politicians should speak the language of development. We are headed nowhere if we speak the language of tribe and regionalism. Zambians should make sure people who are tribal and promote regionalism are not supported or listened to,” he said.
Fr Luonde said the practice of tribalism and hatred was what led to the killing of innocent people in Uganda.
“We don’t want Idi Amins in Zambia. If we become tribal and segregative, that will be a total destruction to our nation,” said Fr Luonde.
When receiving defectors from other political parties in Matero last Wednesday, Hichilema said any Zambian who held a critical view against the government was being treated like a criminal even after years of independence from colonialists.
He said the country had gotten rid of all colonialists except Vice-President Scott.

Mr. Hakainde, Please,please, Talk of developmental issues.Zambians have passed that level.It is for the South Africans and not Zambians. Guy scot is a Zambian infact the constitution should be revised so that he can be the next President. Ba Mudala muletusebanya. And i can assure you no Zambian will listen to you. 50 years of independence ukulalanda kwati kaice sure.

its fun to read this article by fr luonde has he been out of the country or what he expects pipo to believe him who practices triberlism regionalism nepotism the president came in open many times defending his action on this and fr luonde zee is it cos blood is thicker than water look at your self yu are suppoes to blance things correctly ba father shame shame

Hey Father, Scott is indeed the remaining colonialist and we must get rid of him. He is white and not fit to be Zambian’s VP. You can call me a racist but the fact remains, that Zambia is for black Zambians and not the likes of Scott born out of white settlers. Africans must wake to the fact that China is for chinese, Japan for japanese, India for Indians, Russia for Russians and no black Zambian settler can aspire to be VP of any of the mentioned countries. Why then should Africa be for all and not exclusively for indigenous Africans, which excludes the likes of rif rafs like Scott? Abash white settlers….Mayibuye!! They can live and work in Zambia, but for GOd’s sake they should not try to be leaders and perpetuate colinialism. Look ata Zambia’s demographics and ask yourself who white man Scott represents??

Its time To win votes not such utterances against individual…. I remember When Sata was in the opposition.. He did not concentrate much on attacking individuals but the entire cabinet/ Govt. Whenever he(SATA) was on radio, Pipo were eager to listen to him I could see TaXI drivers at town centres opening their car doors Listening attentively in Groups giving him courage to contnue pressuring the Govt on developmental issues.. Now this HH is wasting time on individuals.. ITs TIME TO WORK UP ORGANISE YOURSELF SET BACK AND HIT/ATTACK WHEN ITS NECESSARY….
