Ex Chipolopolo Star Stabbed To Death In Lusaka

Nkoloma-StadiumFormer Chipolopolo player Lyianga Chiwanki was Monday night stabbed to death in Lusaka’s Chawama township.

Chiwanki, recently recalled to Red Arrows after spending the last two seasons at lower league side Lusaka City Council (LCC), died on the spot.

Sources have disclosed that Chiwanki was in the company of his young brother at a place called JCC.

The sources say Chiwanki’s brother found himself in an altercations and confusion ensued.

“At this point Chiwanki was trying to stop the fight and the other people used a knife. He was stabbed in the chest and died right there,” the source said.

Chiwanki was a regular call up for Herve Renard in the 2008 and 2009 soccer seasons alongside Judge Mkandawire and Whiteson Simwanza. The player was due to make a return to Arrows this season.

He has died at very a young age and I knew him to be humble player when he played for Chilanga Heroes and then moved to Power Dynamos. The murderers should be brought to book. May his soul rest in peace. The funeral is at his mother’s house in Musamba township – Chilanga. Too bad to lose such a dependable son so soon.

In the name of Jesus Christ I cast out all the demons in you for you see nothing wrong in insulting.I know you are not doing it deliberately as the father of lies who is the devil is the one in charge of your life right now.Holy Ghost cleanse this person in the spotless and blameless blood of Jesus Christ.I command deliverance in your spirit, soul and body in Jesus’mighty name.
