Opposition National Restoration Party (NAREP) President, Elias Chipimo Junior says Patriotic Front (PF) Members of Parliament will face a huge task convincing the electorate in their respective constituencies to vote for them in 2016 after rejecting the motion that sought to urge Government to provide a roadmap for the enactment of a new constitution.
Mr. Chipimo has told QFM News in an interview that by voting against the motion, PF Members of Parliament lost the confidence of the people who elected them to represent them in Parliament.
He states that the ruling party MPs neglected to champion the interests of their electorates by choosing to vote in a partisan manner in order to please the PF leadership at the expense of the people who voted for them.
Mr. Chipimo has reminded the PF MPs that they have an obligation to meet the aspirations of the electorates above partisan interests.

PF have served for at least 3 years, logically its not possible to avail the new constitution and have it enacted for the following reasons;
1. PF took office based on an old constitution.
2. Most motions taken and implemented are based on the old constitution and are contradicted or twisted in the current one which if enacted now will alt everything.
3. The presidents powers in the new constitution are limited as compared to the old one and the house has separate powers which the president is enjoying now.
4. Such moves can only be pushed if the new one is the only one available (say if the old one expired hours before pf took office, you can not be sworn in on the different constitution then start leading on the other kind of a constitution)
It will be unnecessary to avail the new constitution now as it will be like taking your own rope with you to Mukobeko m.prison, so pf will not give out what will put them behind bars no matter the pressure instead they will enact it at the edge of the term so no one will follow them as they will only be probed on grounds of the old constitution.
This is my personal analysis and not reflect or favor anybody or a party.

these things work like insurance policies. it becomes functional on a particular date & time. so crimes committed before will be judged using the old constitution. it wud be difficult to inargurate a president and introduce a totally new constitution on the same day. a new constitution will also spell out when the old one will be totally wiped out of the system (unless its half baked). if what is in a new 1 is good, why delay it? if its bad, why formulate it in the first place?

@john pondo – contrary to you halucination, Henry Banda is not on the run. GRZ failed to frame. Charges that would stick internationally. They tried to abduct the man and were caught in RSA by RSA shu shu shu.
Your facts are wrong and very weak, mr pondo. Totally PF fabrications.
Basic civics/social studies tells one that the president cannot repeal a law on his own. It takes an act of parliament. Did you skip that month of school?

Mr NAREP president,voters in Mapatizya, Lupoposhi,Vubwi constituencies and the like are more interested in issues that can put food on the table. You start concentrating on matters like improving agriculture,provision of free education and creation of jobs.Remember that good governance is relative and can not be measured,therefore, it not a useful tool for campaigners.
