Police Hound HH From Mambwe
Police have hounded out UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and his entourage from Mambwe District in eastern province where they had gone for a series of rallies.
UPND vice Dr. Canisius Banda who is part of the entourage has confirmed the development to QFM News in a telephone interview.
Dr Banda says they were trailed Police and hounded out of Mambwe District armed police officers this afternoon.
Dr. Banda has further disclosed that earlier in the day, Police tear gassed and assaulted hundreds of innocent citizens with one person sustaining a broken collar bone at a UPND party official’s residence whom they had gone to visit.
And UPND Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba says the party has instructed its members to always arm themselves against the Police whenever they are attending public gatherings.
Mr Simusamba says this follows today’s incident in Mambwe district in Eastern province where UPND members were brutalized by Police.
And Mr. Simusamba says UPND president Hakainde Hichilema’s tour will continue whether the Police like it or not.

If UNPD is holding rallies anywhere without police permit it is illegal and as such the police has every right to dispel the gathering. Please notify the police in Chipata and talk sense at those rallies. Do not be desperate politicians who want to be recognised in short possible time.

That is good publicity for UPND and HH by the police. Good work. the more they push HH around for no reason (fear of the unknown) the more people will be drawn to him and UPND. That is how Sata even became so popular even when it was clear to all that he wasn’t presidential material, which he has proved today. General Miyanda who is more presidential material has not managed to have a large following partly because no one hussles him around, no visibility. The train is unstopable. Next isd Muchinga and Northern province. And once the brave Bembas get into the system propoerly, that is the end of PF.

UPND were given a police permit to hold meetings but later cancelled. I m waiting to see and hear that sata’s meeting has been cancelled.
