Nevers Mumba Speaks on MMD Woes, Claims State House Has a Hand In It

neversNEVERS Mumba says there are some members within MMD who have been paid by State House to destabilise the party.

But President Michael Sata’s special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah said State House has nothing to do with what is happening in MMD.

On Tuesday, Mumba’s supporters alleged that MMD vice-presidents Michael Kaingu, Dr Brian Chituwo as well as Kapembwa Simbao, Lucky Mulusa and Dora Siliya were schemingto remove him from the party presidency.

But Siliya on Wednesday hit back by accusing Mumba of failing the party and likening his leadership to a rotting fish.

During a briefing this morning at the party secretariat, Mumba also accused State House of having instructed certain newspapers to give prominence to what he termed as apparent divisions in the MMD as a way of diverting the attention of the Zambian people.

“Our members should have sharp eyes to see who is it amongst us can be used by the enemy to bring destabilization within our party. How can you as a member of our party leave the challenge for which we exist to solve the problems of the country and start embracing money from a party that is supposed to destroy this party which is supposed to speak for the Zambian people? I know you will say as a pastor mwila fulwa, ine ifyo fulwa umuntu uwangala na Zambia, ewo nfulilwa As a pastor do not get upset but this is what upsets me, someone who plays around with Zambia,” said an emotionally charged Mumba.

He said there was no need for people to concentrate on fighting the MMD in order to make it in life, but that there was need to destroy the evil that was destroying the country and not MMD.

“Our job is not to fight amongst ourselves or to allow PF to fight us using us. We should be vigilant. You are going to have people who will get things to fight the MMD and they will come to you and say ‘Nevers Mumba has failed the MMD, let us remove him’. This happens all the time. When we lost the elections in Feira, it was the same thing, everyone stood up that ‘let’s get rid of Mumba’. When we won Mkaika they were quiet and now that we have won Katuba they want Mumba out. This is not what is going to build a party. Democracy is a sum total of losses and victories and a successful leader must be defeated many times so that he can be able to justify a victory when it comes,” he said.

Mumba called on MMD members not to participate in what he termed as a fight against his party.

“If the press wants to participate in the fight against us, let them fight alone but don’t help them. Let not the enemy use some of us. Let us stand together. Those with problems of administration should come and talk to us as members of the party and not going to the press. I want to ask our members to get away from these newspaper battles. We know how much money has been put in the hands of some of the people to destabilise our party,” he said.

Mumba also said in the next few weeks, he would be making a statement on the clandestine plan that was going on in the country dubbed anti-Bemba crusade.

He said the politics of Zambia had never been tribal and anyone who goes tribal would lose.

“The same force that was working to remove GBM former defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba from PF is the same force they have employed to try and remove Mumba from MMD and it shall not work. I will expose it in its full. These are efforts that are planned by a grouping that believes that a certain tribe should never rule again because of Mr Sata’s mistakes,” he said.

Mumba said he would not join in what he termed clandestine politics of trying to destroy one another.

“Stop attacking one another. MMD does not sell out to those people in PF that want to destroy us. Make sure you distance yourself from them. At the end of the day, all the machinations being done at night, trying to destabilise one another will fail. The will of God shall prevail. The will is about to expose those whose intentions is to disrupt the freedom of the Zambian people,” he said.

But Chellah said it was highly unfair for Mumba to attribute the failure in leadership on his part to State House and President Sata in particular.

He dismissed Mumba’s allegations as mischievous.

Pastor Mumba, you are not a threat to PF and therefore, you shouldn’t blame innocent people for your failure.

Pastor Mumba it is common logic for you to know that since you resumed the MMD top leaders your party has continued to loose sit and its is falling by he day.How can state house get involved in the affairs of the party that is dying. It will be foolishness for PF to waste their time and money fighting for you and MMD. Just learn to accept the truth that you have not added any value to the party and political cycles. The bible say: THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE
