Mbala MP Sues Wife For Divorce

Member of Parliament (MP) Mwalimu Simfukwe has sued his wife Gladys for divorce.
Mr Simfukwe has charged that their marriage had broken down irretrievably and as such the only way out was a divorce.
He said in his petition for divorce filed in the Lusaka High Court principal registry that he and Gladys had lived apart for a continuous period of more than two years.
Mr Simfukwe, a business executive and Parliamentarian for Mbala resides temporarily at his father’s farm number 424 in Chongwe, while his wife works as an administrator for Self Help Africa International.
The couple has five children, two of whom were born of the marriage.
Mr Simfukwe and his wife were lawfully married on May 27, 2002 at the Civic Centre at Lusaka.
The couple last cohabited in January 2012 at farm number 7070, Lusaka West where the wife still resides.
Mr Simfukwe said there had been no agreement made between the parties for the support of the children but he was proposing that both parties have access to them once the divorce was granted as well as property settlement.
He said since their almost 12-year marriage had broken irretrievably, it was his prayer that the marriage be dissolved.

It is always painful to hear the word divorce
because the children get affected. The law maker and his wife need counselling. Just think about the plight of your children. They will always need the presence of the both parents. It really breaks my HEART.

    GOD HELP US

what lesson are young ones passing through marital problems going to learn from order people? She married you are capable of solving any such problem and not run away from. If you do, remain single forever or reconcile.

Hon. Simfukwe I plead with you to reconsider your decision. You have a lot to loose when you go for divorce. Divorce will affect your children terribly. Your reasons for divorce are not even clear. It is very likely that you are divorcing your wife because of a girl friend.

I always believe that divorce is applied when unfaithfullness/infidelity (outdoor sex affair) occurs.
Now I believe what a man called wise said to me that:
“Marriage is like rains; first we ask ‘When is it going to rain because it’s too hot’ then when it is raining we say ‘That’s great because it has cooled the soil’ and finally when the area is flooded we scream ‘It’s tooooooo much!!! When will it stop raining?”
