“By Edmond Lifwekelo”
Mulenga sata shouldn’t even cheat himself that he is climbing up the political ladder. His “ascension” is purely artificial as he is using unconventional means to get positions. His “election” as Lusaka. District chairman was marred by intimidations, violence and corruption as thugs were hired to intimidate Goodson Banda whom he stood against. Senior PF sychophants like Jean Kapata were used to make sure mulenga went unopposed. Delegates from mandevu and chawama constituences who were percieved to be pro- Banda were barred from participating in the elections forcing Banda to withdraw his candidature at the last minute and thereby allowing sata to go unopposed, despite withdrawing Banda got one vote in the “election”.Even his election as Lusaka deputy mayor saw the same events where thugs from intercity Bus Terminus were used to threaten councillors so that mulenga go unopposed.Mulenga’s last “election” as Lsk mayor has been described in many circles (including in the pf) as the worst ever election to have taken place in zambia. Councillors were intimadated and insulted by thugs hired by mulenga from intercity Bus terminus. Council electoral rules were openly flouted as thugs were allowed in the council chamber to harass anyone who wanted to oppose mulenga. The thugs also visically harassed christopher shakafuswa who wanted to vie for the position of Deputy mayor. Councillors were threatened that they were not going to leave the chamber if shakafuswa was elected and if mulenga was opposed. This was done in view of the police and Guy scott. Why were the thugs allowed in the chamber? Mulenga was seen several times talking to these thugs and giving them what appeared to be money before the elections. The “elections” were a sham and fell far away for them to be described as an election. But then that is pf for you,, never before has zambia witnessed such high levels of lawlessness being exhibited by pf thugs with the approval of the party’s top leadership. What is even more surprising is these thugs which mulenga hired are the same ones who locked up RATSA offices the other day; there are the same thugs who damaged a Government school in Northmead not long ago, these are the same thuga who assaulted some police offivers in lusaka west the other week sending three officers to UTH. The top pf leadership knows these thugs, the police know these thugs but yet they seem to be even more powerful than the pf’s central committee. These thugs rule the country. Every one in the party fears them; ministers fear them, the police fear them : they can lock up any Government office they want. And it seems that even the judiciary fears them. Lsk pf provincial chairman Kamba’s criminal trial in the magistrate court has grounded to a halt as witnesses (including the arresting officer) fear to come and testify. Even magistrates are afraid to handle the matter as two of them have recussed themselves from hearing the matter. The matter has gone to thr PRM for reallocation twice now. What’s going on?
But then again we warned long ago that these things will happen if you let these individuals rule country. Yes zambia is at cross roads and the situation is detoriating. Fellow zambians you haven’t seen the worst yet, brace yourselves for hard times under the pf. It will get worse before it gets better.

‘But then again we warned long ago that these things will happen if you let these individuals rule country’. In short you are bitter you wanted to rule the country and you lost. The article was good until you wrote that, you clearly show you are in the opposition.
