Chellah Tells Off HH : Stop Being In a Rage of Bitterness and In a Hurry to Get To State House, Offer Solutions

STATE House says United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema’s “inflammatory” statements against President Sata will not win the opposition party leader the support he is seeking from Zambians.

President Sata’s special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah said in an interview yesterday that Mr Hichilema must offer alternatives to the country’s problems instead of attacking the persona of President Sata and the Presidency.
Mr Chellah said this in response to Mr Hichilema’s verbal attacks on President Sata and accusing him of running a militia under the Patriotic Front (PF).
“President Sata is a peaceful and great statesman who demonstrated his love for this country in 2006 and 2008 when he calmed Zambians down after they took to the streets to protest the election results, a situation that could have easily degenerated,” Mr Chellah said.
He said Mr Hichilema seems to be in a rage of bitterness and a hurry to get to State House.
He said Mr Hichilema’s attacks on President Sata are an indication of his (Hichilema) unsuitability for the presidency.
“What is clear is that Mr Hichilema thrives on empty rhetoric and prides in politics of inflammatory remarks. But attacking President Sata will not make him popular,” Mr Chellah said.
And chief government spokesperson Joseph Katema says it is unfair and unfounded for Mr Hichilema to accuse Government of sponsoring cadres to harass him.
Dr Katema, who is also Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, says it is baseless for Mr Hichilema to threaten to take Government to the Hague let alone call for the resignation of President Sata.
He said in a statement yesterday that the PF administration is a disciplined Government which does not condone lawlessness and indiscipline by anyone regardless of their political affiliation.
He stated Government has a duty and mandate to protect life and property of all citizens, saying that is why police acted swiftly to protect Mr Hichilema when he came under attack from hooligans masquerading as party cadres.
Mr Hichilema charged at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that PF cadres are operating as militias.
He accused President Sata of intending to declare a state of emergency in order to delay the 2016 general elections.
Mr Hichilema also accused the police of being “PF cadres”.

Well spoken Chela.HH thinks the route to presidency is being provocative and finger pointing.Thats old way of doing politics and primitive in this age where they praise him to be very educated leader. This strategy is self destructive and he can not win elections.Talking without suggested solutions is as good as an empty tin making noise. He is good at INSULTS just like his followers.Count how many insults will be on this story by his supporters…….

Chellah is more useful in our country, than hh who takes everything in his hands; wanting to climb to power thru shot cuts.
    It won’t work in Zambia!!

If only you would check your facts correctly, and know how many pipo Akainde has killed both direct and indirect through the privatization in early 1990s as a liquidator, most of you wouldn’t be yapping like a fish which has just been taken from the water.

State House responses to comments on many issues that the opposition raises do not move me as I believe in the saying that one does not need to argue with a fool for people will not know the difference thus if State House responds in the manner and language it has time and again to opposition commentary it says is “childish and bitter” then I am left to wonder who……………! By the way what is this nonsense we keep hearing of politicians who want to get to State House using short cuts? Someone tell me if there is an officially legally recognized mode for one to ascend to national leadership? For all I know one only has to be 35 years to qualify to stand for presidency. Only UNIP with its ‘one party participatory democracy’ introduced the unwritten rule that one needed to have served at various levels as they ascended to more prominent positions. Mind you any CEO of any organization has the experience and acumen to vie for presidency without undergoing political noisy rhetoric! All I am trying to say is that the world has transformed in many spheres and so the argument that one needs to have gone through the levels the old politicians who are a product of UNIP underwent to be worthy of leadership is neither here nor there! Even being a school prefect is training ground enough!
