Chief Chipepo Urges Chirundu Residents To Support The New Dc.

Chief Chipepo of the Tonga people in southern province as urged the residents of newly created Chirundu district to support the new District Commissioner Mrs. Peggy Nyerenda. The new DC has replaced Maxwell Siamalimba who recently been fired by President  Sata after a protest by Pf cadres.

His Royal Highness Chipepo said this in Chirundu when he met Mr. Gift Chanda who is the former Area councilor on Thursday 17/04/2014.

Upon seeing Chanda His Royal Highness Chipepo who was being driven asked the driver to stop and the Chief asked Chanda in Bemba. (Ba councilor, bushe namwishiba ati imfumu naisa mu mushi wenu?)And Chanda, who was glad to see the chief, went straight and greet him, Mulishani shikulu? While kneeling down. Then the chief asked, how are you working with the new Dc? Am speaking to you being the civic leader, you must tell members of the community to support the new district commissioner in order to enhance development in your Chirundu district.

Meanwhile, a Chirundu resident Mr. Cloud Vlahakis has praised the new District Commissioner Mrs Peggy Nyerenda and the Council Secretary Mr.C.k Chalusa for grading township roads in the new Chirundu district.

And chanda who is also MMD district secretary has asked His Royal Highness Chipepo to be an ambassador of development in Chirundu District.

Chanda said, that grading of township roads only is not enough considering that, Chirundu is one of the economic back bone for our country in terms of revenue collections. We need good tar mark roads in our town. And we also need a good water network system, so that, everybody can have access to clean and safe drinking water. And Chanda has asked water utility company (Lusaka water and Sewerage Company) to look into the erratic water supply especially at mission compound.
