President Michael Sata says he is working, he’s fit, he’s fine and has not been evacuated.
In a phone call to The Post yesterday morning, President Sata said reports that he was unwell and had been evacuated for treatment outside Zambia were false.
“They are saying I have been evacuated, evacuated to where?” he asked.
“The opposition even wants to move a motion that they want a medical report before Parliament. We are ready for them.”
President Sata told The Post that he was working normally.
“I’m fit, very fit. I’m very well,” he said.
“You know the nature of the office I’m in. I don’t know the motive of the opposition.”
Opposition MMD president Nevers Mumba on Monday said there were signs that the President was not well.
“Listen, if these signs are signs that the President is not feeling well, all of us stand with him and sympathise with him, but they should not make him do things that are going to make him worse. Zambian people do understand in terms of sickness that they would go ahead and allow the President to take leave until he recovers. They must not push him to do things that are going to aggravate his situation,” Mumba said.
“I think that PF now has to face reality; is the President capable of carrying on or not? This is not a situation where you have something against the President, I am just asking a very noble question. Are these people (PF) trying to force the President to do things that he cannot physically afford to do? He is a person with a family and these questions should be answered and the responsibility lies in the hands of the Patriotic Front and the family, to be able to give guidance so that Zambians can have a President speaking for them on these important days and be able to represent them in other parts of the world.”

Thats good news. I hope its true. We then do not need to waste time praying for him. Lets pray instead opposition parties who are suffering from pf and police brutality.

If Mr President you are fit as you claim, that is good news, as a creation of a living God you deserve the well wishes of everyone. But a phone call to a puppet newspaper as proof of fitness is far below expectations of your high office. Show us yourself Mr President….

Glad you’re fit Mr President. Does this mean you can hold a press conference to discuss the weak kwacha and the increase of Inflation? We used to see you at Kamwala Intercity Bus terminal criticising the Lavatories and queuing up for fuel during shortages, it would ease the publics mind if you and not Face book or Goerge Chellah or Post Tabloid , would indicate the way forward.
