Lusaka Man Slits Wife’s Throat, Commits Suicide
A MAN of Lusaka’s Lilanda West Township on Wednesday night allegedly slit his wife’s throat killing her instantly after a marital dispute, Lusaka province Police commissioner Lemmy Kajoba has confirmed.
Mr Kajoba told the Daily Mail yesterday that the man in his early 40s identified as Patrick Kalaba later committed suicide by drinking an insecticide.
It is believed that Kalaba picked up a quarrel with his wife in the night and then he slit her throat with a knife.
Mr Kajoba named the woman as Alina Mwango, aged 40.
“This man stopped reasoning and picked up a knife to slit his own wife’s throat. She died on the bed from heavy bleeding,” Mr Kajoba said.
He explained that when the children queried the man over noise and commotion they heard in the bedroom, he decided to commit suicide.
“Their eldest daughter who is 20 years old reported the matter to police and we picked up two bodies which are now in the UTH mortuary,” Mr Kajoba said.
He described the incident as very sad and advised couples not to engage in physical fights.

Correction Tumfweko, according to ZNBC last night, it is his former wife and the man was pleading to be taken back by her. Well, it is too horrific to imagine. He is lucky as he decided to take his own savage life; he would have been roasted for a long time in jail before slapping him a death sentence and then fried further for years until his hanging.
