People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President George Mpombo says Zambians are justified to worry and demand a comprehensive update on President Michael Sata’s health.
Dr. Mpombo says this justification is based on the fact that President Sata is a national asset.
Dr. Mpombo has told Qfm News in an interview that this is why concerns about President Sata’s wellbeing should not easily by brushed aside.
He says State House should issue a comprehensive update on the President’s health in order to clear the impression that has been created in people’s minds with regards the President’s health status.
Dr Mpombo says the apprehension that has been created in people’s minds cannot be cleared by merely dismissing as politicking assertions that the President is unwell.
He says such random statements are only fueling the apprehension in the country, hence the need for State House to clear the speculation surrounding President Sata’s health.
But President Sata’s Special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah has told Qfm news in a separate telephone interview that it is not necessary for State House to discuss the issue of the Head of State’s health any further.
Mr. Chellah says this is because the President is well as evident from his engagement today when he swore-in Lusaka lawyer Mumba Kapumpa as Zambia’s Ambassador to South Korea and Salome Mwananshinku as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Malawi.
Mr Chella says this is a clear indication that the Head of State is well and is executing his duties normally.
He says State House would have been more than willing to invite Dr. Mpombo to State House if his intentions were to really get a confirmation of President Sata’s wellbeing.
Meanwhile President Michael Sata has wondered what constitution those calling for the enactment of a new constitution are talking about when the country already has constitution in place.
The Head of State was speaking when he swore-in Mr Kapumpa and Ms Mwananshiku as diplomats at State House this morning.

Concerns indeed! Sata shall live to be remembered as a president who were never alowed to get sick. When he gets sick; you should announce his death, when he is not seen on TV; he must be pending to die. Nomba mwe bantu, can’t we allow him at list to fall sick, he is also human mwe, no ubukali alomfwa!

I have question to ask the Zambian people, firstly allow to take u in bible, when the Israel were troubled and they wanted someone to lead them they were crying to God and they prayers were answered.in 2011 the Zambian people cried to God and he answered our prayers we have a great leader who just need to be helped.the question is do we still crying for another new leader ?

@Dudley, Winter Kabimba @ HH may want the seat viciously, even to the extent of looking for flimsy reasons (lies, tribe, conspiracies) to get rid of their perceived opponents (Lubinda, GBM, Saki, etc). The fact is these two came to be where they are NOT because of the popular vote but by personal & tribal appointment. No wonder NONE of them has ever been elected as leader. Probably, NEVER WILL.

please let us remember that eternal life is only in Jesus Christ and not on this earth because it is appointed for one to die….if he (sata) is sick, he his sick no matter what so there is no need to hide because we are all humans who get sick and get better later though some die…

I will give u a pipo’s driven constitution within 90 days. Today he says there is a constitution already in zambia. Didn’t he know there ws a constitution wen makng thoz promises? Why spendng all da monies dat ws used on draftng da new constitution? U wil have more money in yo pockets, how can we have money wen dollor is on daily basis killing our currence & all thoz wage freeze? Lets not say God gave us thse leaders who can easily change like a kamilion. Anyway da truth remains dat the health is severely depreciating at a fast rate jst as good as da kwacha is. Quick recovery sir.
