Ndola Pastor Sues Mother-In-Law For Insults

A 44 year old pastor of Light of Life Church in Ndola has dragged his younger brother’s mother-in-law to court for insulting him.
This is a matter in which Wilson Chilangwa of house number 3073 in Pamodzi township has sued Doris Mwango, 38, of Nkwazi overspill for compensation in the Chifubu Local Court on Thursday.
Chilangwa told the court that Mwango went to his house on May 8 this year around 21:00 hours and insulted him following a quarrel that her daughter had with his younger brother over custody of their baby.
He told Senior Local Court Magistrates Agnes Mulenga and Rosemary Muke that Mwango mobilised her sons who went to his house to insult him that he is a fake pastor who is only interested in using church offerings for his own benefit.
“Your honour, she mobilised some boys who came to my house and hurled all sorts of insults at me and alleged that I am a fake pastor who is only interested in misusing church offerings,” Chilangwa said.
He further said the same boys also beat up his younger brother with iron bars.
In her defence, Mwango admitted that her sons assaulted their brother-in-law but denied that she sent them to attack him. She said the boys beat up the victim after they heard that he had assaulted their sister.
Mwango told the court that she only went to rescue her daughter who had reportedly been beaten by her former husband and to pick up her five-year-old granddaughter whom the latter had grabbed from her daughter.
But the court asked Chilangwa to ask for forgiveness from Mwango for the words he might have said during the scuffle and for dragging her to court. Chilangwa complied with the court’s order.
“You (Chilangwa) kneel down before your mother-in-law and ask for forgiveness for what you said to her when you differed and for having brought her to court,” magistrate Mulenga said.
Mwango was also asked to seek for forgiveness from Chilangwa and she obliged.
The court advised the two to live in harmony as they are family stating that it is saddening to see a pastor drag his mother-in-law to court instead of resolving the matter amicably in a Christian way.

“Ngalande 33, a ‘prophet’ of Chipata Kapata’s Township has denied inserting his fingers in the two women whom he is allegedly have paraded naked in the mountains while ‘casting out sexual demons’.

This is a matter involving Misheck Ngalande 33, a ‘prophet’ of Kapata township and Benny Banda 34, a pastor of Chimwemwe township in Chipata who stood charged with two counts of indecent assault on female contrary to section 137(II) of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia read with Act Number 15 of 2005.

Facts are that the two pastors on April 25, 2013 at Chipata jointly and whilst acting together did unlawfully and indecently assaulted Tabitha Mwanza 19 and Mambwe Mwanza 22.

Opening his defence before Chipata Principle Resident Magistrate Twaambo Musonda yesterday; Pastor Ngalande denied sexually assaulting the complaints.

“On the material day, four of us, me, Pastor Banda, Tabitha and Mambwe went to the mountain for prayers and fasting. We never had sex neither did we insert our fingers in the private parts of the complaints as alleged,” he said.

Pastor Ngalande said it was not possible to have sex with the siblings because at the apex of the mountain, there was a man and two church members whom he only identified as Rhoda and Josephine.

On allegations that he threatened one of the complaints that if they failed to have sex with them, one of them will die in the next five years, he said those were lies.

He said on other accusations that the Pastors were casting out sexual demons by sleeping with female church members; he denied that since he was a pastor from 2010, no one has ever complained of sexually harassment neither was he dragged to police or court.

During trial in July last year, Mambwe told the Court that she was surprised that after being told to pray with her eyes closed at mountain, when she opened them, Pastor Banda was kneeing between her legs while stroking her private parts claiming he was removing the demons out.

She said she felt uncomfortable and cheated she wanted to urinate hence Pastor Banda allowed her but when she went back to the same spot was shocked to hear Pastor Ngalande directing his colleague to kiss her because drunkard men had kissed her before.

She refused to be prayed for and dressed up later demanding to be taken back to their home which they did.

Legal Aid defence lawyer John Phiri said the defence will bring eight witnesses. The prosecution term is being led by Justine Zyambo.

GHANAIAN PASTOR ARRESTED IN CHURCH FOR DEFILING AND IMPREGNATING A 15 YEAR OLD MINOR OF WOODLANDSA GHANAIAN pastor, Kofi King was on Sunday arrested by police while in church for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 15-year old girl, Lus…aka Province Commissioner of Police Lemmy Kajoba has confirmed.

Mr Kajoba said King, 36, who runs Miracle Embassy Church in Lusaka’s Woodlands is alleged to have defiled the girl around October last year and convinced the family of the girl not to report the matter to police.

The girl who is a pupil is now six months pregnant.

King is remanded at Woodlands Police Station and will appear in court today.

“The church tried to hush the matter but some concerned relatives reported the matter to police on Sunday,” Mr Kajoba said.

He said according to the girl, the incident happened when she sought solace from the “man of God” after her father who was a military officer serving in Sudan died in combat.

“She was going to his church for consolation but the man decided to go beyond that and decided to defile her,” Mr Kajoba said.

He expressed disappointment with the church members for trying to suppress the matter.

“Even some lawyers who go to that church have been saying the man did not defile the girl. This is very sad indeed,” Mr Kajoba said.

“As police, we are aware of lot of cases involving pastors being involved in illegal sexual escapades,” he said.
