MMD Invites GBM to Rejoin the Party

MMD in Northern Province has invited PF Kasama Central member of parliament Geoffrey Mwamba to join the opposition party and recontest the seat on its ticket.
But when contacted for a comment, Mwamba said he would issue a comprehensive statement at the right time.
“As I have always said, I will comment on all these issues when the right time comes. I have no comment at this time, thank you,” said Mwamba.
The resolution to open doors for Mwamba to rejoin the party was passed during the MMD provincial executive committee meeting held in Kasama on May 27.
According to MMD Northern Province publicity secretary, Cephas Bwalya, Mwamba, as a member of parliament, had done a lot to develop Kasama Central, and therefore deserved respect from the Patriotic Front.
“MMD Northern Province during its PEC meeting on 27th May, 2014 extended its olive branch to former defence minister GBM to get back to his original party, MMD, instead of being insulted everytime and again by this good-for-nothing PF. As MMD Northern, we have done this in order to bring sanity and respect to our royal sons of the Bemba chiefdoms….” Bwalya stated in a statement. “For the sake of peace, we have opened doors for GBM to join the party he earlier belonged to. As MMD, we recognise and appreciate what the PF Kasama member of parliament has done in the area. He has developed the area, but the squabbles in the PF are not good for him.”
Bwalya said Mwamba deserved some respect, especially so that he hailed from a royal family under chief Munkonge’s domain.
“GBM comes from a royal family and no unpalatable language is needed to be used against him. He needs to be respected. As MMD, we respect people, especially those from the royal families. He is welcome to join his old party,” Bwalya said. “We need piece to be restored in Kasama central. PF has failed to handle the confusion.”
Mwamba has gone to court to stop his expulsion from the PF, as recommended by the Northern Province PF executive. He has asked the Lusaka High Court to stop what he termed his ‘suspension and expulsion’ by declaring it null and void.
Mwamba wants another declaration that his expulsion is illegal because the right procedure was not followed in expelling him.
Mwamba was an MMD member who contested the Kabwata parliamentary seat in 2006 general elections on the former ruling party’s ticket, but lost to PF’s Given Lubinda.
Mwamba later joined the PF and contested the Kasama seat through a by-election that came about after PF member of parliament Dr Saviour Chishimba resigned in July 2009 to form his United Progressive Party (UPP).

Join UPND for progress not expired MMD (after all there is now no movement for we are already in a multi party dispensation. Why not come up with a new name may be it will come with new ideas).

@bbk. What progress have you seen in UPND? Am disillusioned with PF & their speculative jostling for Santa’s successor at the expense of bringing WHAT WAS promised. Alas! No oposition is making ANY promise & thus can NEVER be made accountable for ANYTHING. Thus, am stuck with PF due to lack of alternatives.

What progress has UPeND scored in this country? Running country’s economy is not like running an in house economy with few workers in your hands. UPeND all are failures and they will remain failures!

The wise can only vote for pf in 2016 when Sata choose a non bemba as his successor,This will prove how bembas love other people from deferent tribes.

Ba Winter mukwai, the wise were fooled in that same way and they voted for Sata and Winter. As a result, they look foolish while Sata and Kabimba look clever and presume us to be as dumb as we were at the voting time. Never ever again. Ciza uli?
