President Michael Sata has with immediate effect expelled Julius Komaki and Benjamin Siwila from the ruling PF for gross indiscipline.
However, Komaki and Siwila have been told they can appeal the decision to the PF’s general conference if they are not happy with the party president’s decision.
When contacted, Komaki, who admitted attending a meeting at State House on Thursday at which the President directed his expulsion from the PF, said he would respond at an appropriate time.
The meeting was attended by PF secretary general and justice minister Wynter Kabimba, sports minister Chishimba Kambwili, Road Development Agency board chairman Willie Nsanda and Zambia Railways board chairperson Davies Chama.
During the meeting, President Sata told Kambwili, Nsanda and Chama that he was aware that they were the ones behind the anti-Kabimba demonstrations.
On Wednesday, Komaki, in the company of Siwila, addressed a press briefing at Avon Guesthouse, owned by Chama, calling for Kabimba’s removal as PF secretary general.
Komaki accused Kabimba of misleading President Sata to go to court and testify in his defamation case against the Daily Nation newspaper, Richard Sakala and UPND director of research Choolwe Beyani.
Komaki also, among other things, accused Kabimba of deliberately misleading President Sata, the nation and the party over the constitution-making process and commencing personal campaigns without the authority of the central committee, Cabinet or the President.
Komaki demanded that President Sata disappoint Kabimba, withdraw his parliamentary nomination and dismiss him as Minister of Justice immediately.
Komaki also demanded that the issue of the draft constitution be tabled for discussion in Cabinet and a roadmap disclosed to the public thereafter.
He also threatened to close the PF secretariat until these demands are met by President Sata.
The President has instead called the bluff and expelled Komaki and Siwila, and has warned those he says are their backers – Kambwili, Nsanda and Chama – to stop their activities.

Kambwili, Nsanda & Chama must have been the first to be fired. U can only sort out a problem by getting rid of the source chapwa. Is the president awere that Kambwili has employed his relative as a driver in his ministry dispite the employment freez or employment freez is only applied to common zambians?

The Bemba chaps have now been taught a lesson.I always say that no Bemba chap will succeed Sata, PF is becoming for Bisas,Tongas,Lozis & Chipatans (Nsenga/Chewas).All Bemba chaps should be expelled. The loyal ones will be given smaller positions, period.

it amazes me to see how pf is on a fast self destruction mode. Look at pf in eastern prov: the original pf are no longer at the helm but new comers like mangani, teleka, chishala chilufya; to mention but a few. By 2016 we the outsiders would be in pf the inner circle and the results will be obvious. To komaki and siwila i say hard luck; pf bemba dominated is not good.

@jamakudi – you have asked an interesting question. I guess the president is avoiding a big hole in the party. Imagine if Kambwili, Chama and Nsanda are expelled and out of political frustration they join HH! The PF will be finished. So ba Sata being a political genius that he is, he has to continue pampering these three until 2016.
