Lusaka Adulterous Wife Walks Away with K10,000 After Divorce

By SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA
A 48-YEAR-OLD man of Matero township was ordered by the Matero Local Court to pay K10, 000 as compensation for divorce after a 19-year-old marriage ended due to the wife’s adultery.

This is a case in which Mwansa Kasupa sued Florence Musonda, 41, also of Matero township for divorce because of her adultery.
Kasupa told Senior Court Magistrate Lewis Mumba that he married Musonda in 1995 and they have six children together.
“Problems started in 1995 after I caught my wife having sex with my cousin. We reconciled afterwards and lived in peace,”said Kasupa.
Kasupa told the court that in 2006, he again caught Musonda having sex with another man in their home.
“I chased her from home but we reconciled in 2007 for the sake of the children,” he said.
Kasupa said after the reconciliation, all was well until 2012.
“Yet again while pregnant, my wife had another affair in 2012.  I discovered this affair when a man called on her phone. I even asked her if she and her lover used a condom when having sex.  However, when we went for checkup at Kanyama clinic we were both found with syphilis,” he said.
He told the court that the two have been on separation for two months.
“I wanted to live with her for the sake of the children, but her extra-marital affairs really put me off. We have been married for 19 years,” Kasupa said.
But Musonda told Senior Court Magistrate Lewis Mumba that Kasupa is a very jealous man who is not even supportive.
Musonda told the court that when Kasupa got employed, he never showed her his monthly pay.
“My husband used to beat me severely and hurl insults at me,” she said.
“I also want a divorce because my husband doesn’t respect me nor does he care for the children,” she said.
The court granted the couple divorce with the custody of the younger children was being given to the mother while the older ones were to live with their father. The court also ordered Kasupa to pay K200 as child maintenance monthly.

there are children involved bakalamba. they can not be punished alongside their mother. when we get married and have children, our lives become complicatedly intertwined. it is difficulty to make a clean break. the magistrate is taking care of bystanders in this case who are direct beneficiaries of the plate of justice.

The Director of Local courts in Zambia must investigate this matter. Then the unfortunate husband must appeal to the Subordinate(Magistrate)court in town. There’s no way a married woman caught more than 3 times committing adultery must be compensated that much.Besides that she even consented to the divorce application. Then why compensate her?I smell a rat here! Limbi somebody within the system alefwenyapo nao or kuchaya munyaule!

Now it’s like prostitution is legal in Zambia, because most women who commit adultery are being favoured by the courts of law. The only solutions to this stup!d courts is to avoid them and take laws in our hands.

No sin on Earth shall go un punished. My bro do not appeal against the judgement, just pay the money in totallity.Vergeance is mine says the Lord. The lady in the next few year will start paying the price for her misdeeds. The bible says What I joined together no man shall seperate it.And no weapon formed against you shall prosper.Read Jer 33 vs 3.Our faithful God is with you remember to pray and ask God s guidance on this issue.

the money is for the support of his own children, if he had no children thats when the court could have just given a divorce without any payment

Being caught 3 x. How many times was she not caught? May be the children are not even his. 3 x is too much to be found. then it means she has sex with another man 2 x in a month

Judicial officers must be thoroughly investigated, there is no way a house wife turned prostitute can be compensated that much(K10,000.00). No wonder they drink alcohol from day 1 to 30.Are they paid salaries every day? This guy must be advised to appeal.

But this woman kwena awe mwandi….how can a woman be like this sure? She is very disgusting to say the least. My advice to the man is that he should just let her go and pay all the money as directed by the court. Let her go bro…you deserve better…a decent woman is waiting for you somewhere….What goes round comes around…MARK MY WORDS!
