Former Eastern Province Patriotic Front Chairperson Lameck Mangani says he will consult the people in the province on the revocation of his appointment by President Michael Sata.
Mr. Mangani says he operates on the basis of the concerns of the people in the province and that it is only when he has consulted them that he will issue a comprehensive statement on the matter.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Q-News, Mr. Mangani says for the time being he prefers to remain reticent and wait for the right time to comment.
President Sata revoked the appointment of Mr. Mangani in a letter dated 13th June, 2014.
President Sata has since appointed Atan Mwamba as Mr Mangani’s replacement as provincial chairperson.
Mr. Mangani was accused of dividing the ruling party in the province and being behind a group of thugs called the Jimbos.

But what is the essence of keeping on hiring and firing people at will?!! Since PF came into power this has been the order of the day…it does not solve anything, but just instils fear in the MPs and Ministers and this results in them going into dubious means to make money as quickly as possible before they are fired. Very few of them are concerned about working for the people anymore.

You are right. At any level, be at school, work, home; people make mistake. If pupils were to be expelled anyhow, workers fired without warning. That includes everyone. That is why offenders should be questioned on their wrongs. Otherwise expelling them won’t work. What is the work of disciplinary committees?

Easterners are dull and foolish. How the hell can they allow bembas in all senior positions?
PS (Chileshe Mulenga, Provincial Minister (Sichoni), PF chairman (Mwamba) are all bembas. Even if Mangani is fired, does it mean that no capable easterner could take over? Shame on Easterners- Always hypocrites. Mwamba was campaigning against Mangani at State House at night. He is the one who sent those women to Lsk to ensure that Mangani is fired. Easterners, please stop fighting each other. Look at other provinces, where do you see PS, Minister, Chairman (all bembas) coming from other provinces ? Even our own chief would rather have a bemba be the leader in his own kingdom….Money at play?

during mangani’s reign pf was trying to germinate in eastern province but there was very little moisture. Chalesi katongo mwango can appoint his kind in whatever position in eastern province but i doubt if they will leave a foot print at the end of their tour of duty. With the removal of mangani as provincial chairperson,pf is slowly but steadily returning to the ICU from where it’ll return as cargo.
