Lusaka Police Gun Down Dangerous Criminals

Police in Lusaka have gunned down three dangerous criminals after an exchange of gunfire.

Police Spokesperson Charity Chanda says incident happened yesterday, Sunday, 22nd June around 20:00 hours in Salama Park area when four criminals armed with unknown types of firearms and using an unregistered green Toyota Corolla tried to rescue their accomplice who was leading Police for recoveries.

Ms Chanda has told QFM News that an AK 47 rifle with two rounds of ammunition and a Pistol Revolver were recovered from the scene of the shooting.

She says the bodies of the three dangerous criminals are lying in the University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.

And Ms. Chanda says Police have apprehended a man identified as Bonaventure Nguni of Lusaka’s George compound who has been masquerading as a medical doctor at the Levy Mwanawasa Hospital.

She says Ng’uni who is currently in custody was apprehended on Friday 20th June around 11:55hours after a complaint from the Hospital management.

Ms Chanda says the trick of the suspect is that he would sneak into the doctor’s room, steal a stethoscope, a doctor’s coat and other equipments before posing around as a doctor targeting women in need of express treatment, whom he charged for the services after which he would then disappear after getting money from the unsuspecting patients.

The Police Spokesperson has since appealed to members of the public who could have fallen victim to the fake doctor to report to Benny Mwiinga Police Post in Lusaka’s PHI residential area.
