Army Presence at State House Was Due to Miscommunication – Govt

Government has admitted that there was communication breakdown over the absence of President Michael Sata at State House on Saturday which led to the continued presence of Zambia Army sentries at the main gate.
Defence Minister Edgar Lungu says it was miscommunication which resulted in the failure to inform the authorities in charge of sentries to withdraw the military guards following the President’s travel to Israel.

Mr. Lungu has since apologized for the communication breakdown.

Meanwhile Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) president Frank Bwalya has wished President Sata well on his working holiday in Israel.

Father Bwalya says President Sata should take advantage of the working holiday to woo investors to Zambia.

He says President Sata deserves a break considering that he has been working very hard.

Fr. Bwalya has told QFM News that initiatives like the one the Head of State has taken to visit Israel can help the country develop, stating that no investor can come to the country without being approached.

Ba Beerman Lungu sure.UNIP and MMD over their rulership for 27 yrs and 20 yrs respectively never experienced that miscommunication.Within just under 3yrs the Peoples’ Fault(PF) Goverment has made so many ‘miscommunications.’A sign of Government failure. But always trying to justify their failures.

The leader of Zambia’s main opposition Patriotic Front (PF) party is calling for a thorough investigation into the health of President Levy Mwanawasa to determine whether he is fully fit to govern. Soon after the government reported that President Mwanawasa was in stable, but critical condition, Michael Sata urged the Mwanawasa cabinet to appoint a medical team immediately to travel to France to examine the Zambian leader. The government, however, dismissed Sata’s pronouncement describing it as unfortunate and fraught with political malice.FROM THE ARCHIVES
