Luis Suarez bite: Uruguay Striker Banned For Four Months
Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has been suspended from all football-related activity for four months for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.
The 27-year-old Liverpool player has also been banned for nine international matches, ruling him out of the rest of the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
It means he will miss the first nine games of the Premier League season.
The incident occurred during Tuesday’s 2014 Fifa World Cup Group D game, which Uruguay won to qualify for the last 16.
Uruguay have three days to appeal against the decision.
The previous record World Cup ban was the eight-match suspension handed to Italy defender Mauro Tassotti in 1994.
Tassotti was punished for elbowing Spain’s Luis Enrique in the face in the 1994 USA World Cup quarter-final and banned retrospectively on video evidence after Hungarian referee Sandor Puhl missed the original incident.

But looking at Suarez, in my view most of the biting results from his ‘rabbit’ like teeth. It may be accidental. When these people are running, they open their mouths. Unless the lower teeth show on the bite marks, then it could be deliberate.

4 Months is not enough, he deserves more punishment along side those who have turned the enjoyable football game into a wrestling or boxing ring. Football at one time was a smart and almost injury free game until now when you have vampires on the pitch.

4 months is not enough 24 months wud have been better just after that incident as our zambian soccer analysts were analysing the world cup results on znbc tv 1 said that is his third time to bite other players and fifa is aware of the other 2 bites why keep him near human beings? and that italy defender should open docket for assault our police can facilitate that
