Zambia Army Commandos In Court For Assaulting 3 Police Officers

Two soldiers from Mushili commando unit appeared before a Ndola magistrate court yesterday for allegedly assaulting three police officers.
Temba Chisenga, 28, and Andrew Chisha, 24, of single quarters one commando, appeared before magistrate Moffat Phiri on three counts of assaulting three police officers Zuze Mbewe, Clement Musakuzi and Thomson Chapanga from Ndola central police, during the execution of their duties.
Particulars of the offence are that on May 29, 2014, Chisenga and Chisha allegedly assaulted the three police officers who were on duty.
Chisenga and Chisha pleaded not guilty to the charge and Mr Phiri adjourned the case to July 24, 2014, for commencement of trial.

I Wonder why these commandos like making a fuss everywhere they go. I hate war to the bone but sometimes I feel they shud have a demo with ANGOLA OLO CONGO we see how they perform.. they just eat our pay as your earn tax without doing anything. I feel government should use these fools in road construction. Zambian are peaceful people so they might as well work than hide in the mountain smoking dobo. ku Sudan we hear of stories of peace keepers from Zambia removing their uniform jst by hearing gunshots to go be refugees for a while.

@Twende, just shut up you imbecile! You think the so-called ‘demo war’ can involve only soldiers? War involves and affects everyone, including you and your loved ones. It breaks my heart to hear such foolish remarks, sometimes even from women (who are the worst affected by these wars). As for the soldiers’ missions in foreign countries, they are deployed under particular mandates eg peace-keeping, peace-enforcement etc. Do some research rather than exposing your ignorance here.

You are talking of assualt,that z bcoz its soldiers who were assilants.If it was the police,they were going to shoot to kill or leaving their victims with serious injuries.
But I salute the soldiers bcoz they just beat the hell out of these tumabuju.
And who knows maybe it was just a spyling bcoz the story z not telling us what led to the beatings.

-Soldier goes to jail —- 5 years (assault on Police)
-soldier gets permanent criminal record at the police archives and national archives.
- soldier loses job, goes back to the streets. seen many ex-soldiers suffering on the streets coz of stupid decisions.
-soldier’s family suffers and falls apart.
-cop goes home smiling, lives another day.
