Musician Kanene To Appear In Supreme Court Tomorrow

kaneneThe Supreme Court of Zambia has set July 11th 2014 as the date for the ruling of Zambian musician Cliford Dimba popularly known as ‘General Kanene’s appeal against his conviction and sentence.

 

General Kanene has appealed to the Supreme Court against his 18 year jail sentence slapped on him by the High Court for defiling a 14 year old girl.

 

Supreme Court Judge Albert Wood is expected to deliver the ruling this Friday.

 

Incarcerated Kanene, has appealed to the Supreme Court against both his conviction and 18 years jail sentence for defilement.

 

Kanene, 27, was slapped with a jail sentence of 18 years with hard labour by Lusaka high court judge, Chalwe Mchenga.

    The was no proper detamination of the the f##ing girl’s right age. I wonder how a learned judge could operate like ths. Some pipo may look young but too too old others vice its vesa. Leave kanene alone we want to enjoy his music. I personally know the girl she has a big hole.

      @cisamu. You words my freind do not seem to support the release of genaral Kanene. Please tone down because if we show arrogance, we just jopardise the guys chances.

      Judge please have mercy given the circumstances. We do not support child abuse but please consider this issue with alot of disgration.

      Cisama, from your post I can deduce that you are illiterate. Kanene spoiled the case in the first place. His first argument was that he never slept with the girl. After conviction he want the girl’s age determined. By the mere fact that he chose to deny the charge his defence was so weak and so is his appeal. I’m sure he might even get two more years.

    Zambians lets forgive kanene he has reformed. who will be offenders will learn more from him when he is out than in prison. in prison we shall just forget about him and the nation will not benefit anything

    The issue of Kanene is about Changa baseka uwacelwa.Many men out there have either screwed or married these under sixteens.Go out in the villages,shanty compounds such as kapoto.sinia,Chipulukusu,George,Chibolya,Chaisa ,Malota,Mulenga and many others-you will find small girls with full blown up pregnancies.Who pregnanted the 30 Kaoma High school -the under sixteen girls?Hillside secondary school in Chipata also had 19 under sixteen girls also pregnanted.Why have the NGOCC and ZP let the HE-GOATS responsible for those pregnancies free? I would be happiest man if Gen Kanene is let free as well.

    Actually the sentence attached to this office is excessive. If a girl reaches the first menstruation, God has given you to use in reproduction. That law was imposed by a person who was very emotional about his daughters. How does 15 and 16 differ? I can understand if some one goes for a girl who has not menstruated before because that is unnatural. Please change the law and free the children from sexually active girls.

    Free Kanene! Kanene is innocent. Please release him. Let the genuine Zambian people not listen to these hypocrites (NGOs) who will promote wrong doing like drinking beer excessively and promiscuity among women. These NGOs do not follow what is right. Their interest is money in their pockets through sacrificing innocent people like Kanene. How can someone be jailed for sleeping with a girl whose age is not known… and probably already has a child? Corrupt judiciary!

    Ba judge free Dimba he has learnt to be humble and am sure its lesson learned for him.He is in his prime and we miss his music,make him an ambassor to teach girls against child abuseWe nid him around not muchitakataka twakana

    The High court looked at the facts & his character. From what is out there, our brother has a spirit of lust. May be a lesser sentence will do so that in prison he will be readily available to undergo deliverance. That way he will make it to heaven.
