Police Warn UPND

Inspector General of Police, Stella Libongani, has warned the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) not to take the law into their own hand or face the wrath of the law.

The Police Inspector General’s warning follows the statement by UPND President Hakainde Hichilema that his party will be carrying out citizens arrests on District Commissioners who will be found campaigning for the PF in constituencies scheduled to hold by-elections.

Ms Libongani has told QFM News in an interview that violence should not be condoned at any level and that the Police will not hesitate to deal with perpetrators of violence.

She has clarified that citizen’s arrest is not against the law as it is, but that there is need for the people in the country to follow the right channels in order to avoid meeting the long arm of the law.

Ms Libongani has noted with sadness that most political party cadres are deployed to areas where by-elections are being held to go to cause problems.

She says Police will not hesitate to deal with such people sternly.

The Police Inspector General has also declared that Police are ready to Police the by-elections in Mangango constituency and that anyone found brewing confusion will meet the Police in the battle field.

The two opposition leaders Morgan and odinga always come into my mind each time HH behavs like a president of this country. The question for Zambians is if HH and his pipo can fail to respect any one except his relatives this time what hapens whe he becomes president?

This HH always fails to show wisdom. He sounds as though he did not go through school. From his sentence. Does it mean if DC will be seen campaigning for UPND, MMD or HP, then its OK? Wekasushi we.

UPND are very right in doing so. District Commissioners are CIVIL SERVANTS who are expected to be apolitical. The problrm in zambia is that what is wrong is right and what is right is wrong. DCs are not supposed to campaign for any party because they will be using govt resources to do so which is unfair for other parties. I m surprised that some comments already brand UPND wrongly. The TRUTH be told, DCs who campaign MUST be arrested indeed because that is the right thing to do. The problem with Libongani is blind loyalty yabupuba. My foot! Sata will not be there for ever as we have been told. That auntie of yours Suba will not rescue u. Do your job professionally.

Level headed comment here and some comments fail to see the light in which some publications word their reporting and as such pass misguided comments! Libongani may not have warned UPND per say but the statement may have been that “Police will not hesitate to deal with perpetrators of violence” irrespectively but the reporter chose to align it to UPND.

Libongani the most dull and useless IG. She is a typical pf cadre who knows her days are numbered as the boat is irretrievably sinking by its own hands.

Even the current President was told that he will never b kateka, lets not just practice politics of tribal hate. It hurts me to see how our Zambian brothers and sisters hate each when it comes to understand each other. Where is papa Kaunda with the slogan One Zed One Nation.
