Govt Has No Role In Chieftainship Issues – Madzimawe

Former House of Chiefs Chairperson Chief Madzimawe of the Ngoni speaking people of Eastern province says Traditional Leaders do not want interference from anywhere in tradition matters.

Chief Madzimawe has told QFM News in an interview that government has no role in issues of Chieftainship.

He says government’s role is merely to receive what is presented to them.

Chief Madzimawe says Traditional Leaders are not deliberately keeping silent on issues affecting them but that they are obliged to issue statements on such issues through the Chairperson of the House of Chiefs.

He says Traditional Leaders have since engaged government through the house of Chiefs.

And speaking in a separate interview, Chief Mukobela of the ILA speaking people in Namwala District says it is wrong for government to interfere in chiefs affairs.

Efforts to get a comment from House of Chiefs Chairperson Senior Chieftainess Nkomesha Mukamambo the second of the Soli speaking people in Chongwe District proved futile.

Chieftainess Nkomenshya cannot say anything.She is Sata’s bootlicker and PF cadre-hence the reward as House of Chief chairperson.
