National Restoration Party (NAREP) says it will apportion fifty percent of all Parliamentary and Local government seats in the 2016 elections to Women.
NAREP Leader Elias Chipimo says his party believes time has come for women to take up leadership positions at all levels equally with their male counterparts including in the Executive.
Speaking at a two days NAREP Women’s League Capacity Building workshop in Lusaka today, Mr. Chipimo says his party holds women in high regard as they are the ones who hold families and the nation together.
Mr Chipimo notes that Women in Zambia have been marginalized and left to fend for their families.
He adds that unemployment among women is very high while HIV and AIDS has left them with so many orphans to take care of.
Mr Chipimo says this is the reason why his Party has a programme to empower women because the strength of every nation lies in their hands.

I choose my politicians the way I choose my motor vehicle replacement parts. Do they fit, can they work, how durable are they. I would be silly to choose a representative based on something as f00lish as the persons s€x. Thatlike choosing a car part based on the packaging.
