Republican Vice-President Dr. Guy Scott has told the Confederation of African Football-CAF- to give priority to a former African Champion when awarding the rights to host the 2019 continental showpiece.
Speaking when three CAF Inspection experts paid a courtesy call on him at his office, Dr. Scott stated that there is need to look at records seriously for former African champions.
Of the five countries bidding to host the 2019 Africa Cup tournament, four countries namely Algeria, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast have won the Cup while Guinea have only emerged as runners up.
But CAF expert, Amadou Diakite said awarding the country the right to host an African Cup of Nations involves voting and could only wish Zambia the best of luck.
The decision on the future hosts will be made by CAF in September, next month.
