Zambia’s Downfall on FIFA Rankings Continues

ormer African Champions Zambia’s downfall in the FIFA World rankings has continued with the Chipolopolo dropping seven places from 77th to 84th in the World.

The drop has also been observed on the African continent in which the Chipolopolo are out of the top 20, and are now 21st, sandwiched by Uganda and Botswana.

Zambia’s rivals in Group F of the 2015 Morocco 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers have recorded mixed rankings.

Mozambique, who are Zambia’s opponents on September 6 are 31st in Africa and one hundred and seventh in the world after jumping seven places up.

Cape Verde, who Zambia will face four days later, are 15th in Africa and 74th in the world while Niger are 37th in African and one hundred and 18th in the world.

Zambia will hope to upset the rankings when they match up against Sudan in an international friendly later this month.

South Africa remain the highest ranked side in the Southern African region on 69thposition despite dropping three places.

Algeria remain the top side on the continent followed by Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana and Egypt.Kindly note that all comments will be reviewed for appropriate content. Please show respect to those who will read your comments.
