Leaders Zanaco Waylay Kalampa

LUSAKA is today expected to come to a standstill when reigning champions Nkana take on leaders Zanaco in a Super Division Week 20 match at Sunset Stadium.
Nkana have the largest supporter base in the country and their fans in the midlands will troop to the stadium in numbers to witness Zanaco’s downfall.

But on the log, Zanaco have 43 points, four better than second-placed Zesco United, who host Roan United. Fifth-placed Nkana, who have two matches in hand, have 29 points.
Third-placed Power Dynamos are away to Green Buffaloes at Woodlands Stadium.
ZANACO vs NKANA
This match pits teams that have won the Super Division title 18 times – 12 for Nkana and six for Zanaco.
Zanaco coach Aggrey Chiyangi knows the Super Division title is within touching range and will assemble a squad that will overcome Nkana.
Zanaco have banged in 44 goals compared to Nkana’s 28 and the bankers are deservedly leaders.
In Mathews Macha, Augustine Mulenga and Roderick Kabwe, Zanaco have a sharp frontline that could push Nkana out of the title race.
The three should up their game if they are to go past the Billy Mwanza-anchored defence and subsequently put the ball beyond goalkeeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga.
Buoyed by last Saturday’s 1-0 win over Egyptian side Al Ahly in the Confederation Cup Group B match, Nkana will be looking forward to completing a double over Zanaco.
Nkana edged Zanaco 2-0 in the first meeting.
But Nkana will be without injured talisman Ronald Kampamba and lanky Festus Mbewe will be given the responsibility of destroying Zanaco.
ZESCO v ROAN (1500hrs)
Inspired by last Saturday’s 3-0 win over Tanzanian side Simba Sporting Club in an international friendly, Zesco return to local action when they engage Roan United at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Jackson Mwanza, Cletus Chota and Juma Liuzio, who contributed a goal apiece in the demolishing of Simba, will turn the screw on Roan.
Winstone Kalengo is another player who could push Roan to the exit door.
But second from bottom Roan could halt Zesco’s cruise if they are treated with kid gloves.
Roan have 14 points.
In an early kick-off at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Indeni intensify their relegation battle against Green Eagles.
BUFFALOES v POWER
Power are set to hand Green Buffaloes their ninth defeat of the season.
Power will be without Jimmy Ndhlovu, who is attending trials at South Africa premiership side Moroka Swallows but have enough quality in Alex Ng’onga and Richard Kasonde.
On the other hand, Buffaloes will look to Sebastian Mwansa and Kennedy Chola to beat Power.
Having held Zesco to a 2-2 draw in Ndola last Wednesday, Buffaloes will take on Power with confidence.
Power have 35 points while Buffaloes have 21.
Elsewhere, Nakambala Leopards face Napsa Stars in Mazabuka and Kabwe Warriors welcome Konkola Blades at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.
