The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has described as shameful the decision by a named Bishop of Kitwe to commit suicide after being slapped with sexual assault charges.
EFZ Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza has told Qfm in an interview that it is unfortunate that Bishop Dominic Nyondo decided to take his own life instead of allowing justice to take its course.
Rev Mwanza says being a Bishop he should have set an example to the public by facing the law or confess, stating that even though people may condemn him, God is still able to forgive his sins.
He states that Bishop Nyondo should have faced the matter with a heart of repentance instead of committing suicide or running away.
Reverend Mwanza further states that this incident should be a lesson to other people pretending to be Men of God but have hidden agendas.
