CRAZY:UPND Official Sets Vicious Dog On Boyfriend
A 38-year-old man of Lusaka’s Bauleni compound has accused his ‘girlfriend’ Elizabeth Hamwinga, who is Lusaka Central UPND chairperson, of setting her vicious dog on him after a misunderstanding.
But Hamwinga, 43 said Masautso Banda was a thief who wanted to break into her house.
Banda yesterday asked for justice to prevail after Hamwinga allegedly released her dog to bite him following a ‘marital dispute’.
Banda explained in an interview that on August 19, Hamwinga who is widowed, allegedly released her dog to attack him after he discovered that she had been cheating on him with another man.
“Because I got involved with Elizabeth five years ago and because I could no longer hide that relationship, I sat my wife (Beauty Simpute) down and told her about my relationship with Hamwinga. My wife was left with no option but to accept my extra-marital affairs. So I would spend a week with my wife and the other at my girlfriend’s (Hamwinga) place also in Bauleni,” he explained.
Banda said he suffered mental and psychological shock when he discovered that Hamwinga hid and locked a man in their bedroom, pretending she had lost the bedroom keys.
“I had been looking for a job and when a company called Presecure offered me one, I rushed to inform Elizabeth about the new development. When I got there, I found the sofa in the house had been rearranged and she told me there was a meeting,” he explained.
“And because she is opposition UPND Lusaka Central chairlady, I believed her. So after chatting, I requested to go to the bedroom with her but she told me that one of the women who was attending the meeting had accidentally gone with her bedroom keys.”
Banda said that Hamwinga later decided that the duo sleep in the living room with Hamwinga’s older children as the woman who got her bedroom keys lived very far.
“I then became suspicious and told her that she was hiding a man in the house, an accusation she denied, saying she had loved only me. And because I could not sleep on the sofa, I decided to leave around 21:00 hours. I told her I was going back to my first wife and she even escorted me up to the gate. After walking for a short distance, I discovered I had left my phone at Hamwinga’s house and so I went back to fetch my phone. Surprisingly, I heard the bedroom door open before I knocked, and I could hear my long-time girlfriend talking to a man,” he explained.
“I went to the bedroom window and when I peeped, I saw Hamwinga standing naked in front of a man. I got very upset and shouted to her from outside that I had heard their conversations.”
Banda said it was after this that Hamwinga order her older son to unleash the dog in order to bite him.
“She got very embarrassed and almost rushed back to the living room, where her children were, naked. Then she asked where the children had placed the metal bar used to lock the grill doors and before I could realise it, her eldest son had placed it on my neck, over-powering me to the ground. Then the other one released their vicious dog and it came straight and bit me on my right arm, my fingers and on my legs,” he explained.
“I loudly screamed because the pain was too much and that is how come she ordered her older son to release me. I was later forced out of the gate and my phone was thrown at me.”
He said this greatly shocked him as he did not accept that the woman he had sacrificed his life for would end up treating him like a criminal.
“Her dog which bit me is very sick. Its private parts discharge pus and I had always asked her the time we would be together to find time and take it to the vet clinic,” he added.
Banda disclosed that he decided to report the matter to Bauleni police post and was given a medical report to help him access medicines to treat any infections he may have contracted from the attack.
“But Hamwinga has refused to help me. She has been refusing to accompany me to the vet clinic so that they could investigate the illness of that dog to know which medicines they would give me. She won’t just release her dog and I am told after 14 days, the effects of the dog bites and its illness would manifest in me, and I am scared,” said Banda, who provided two numbers on which Hamwinga could be contacted.
And when contacted for a comment, Hamwinga denied being in any relationship with Banda.
She alleged that Banda was a thief who wanted to break into her house and steal property.
“If he claims we have been dating for close to five years now, I am sure the dog would have known him and it was not going to bite him,” she said.
Hamwinga said Banda was just after tarnishing her image as she would not date him because he was younger than her.
“I haven’t been feeling too well of late but since I am now a bit fine, I will now report him to Woodlands Police Station so that he can be arrested for theft. He failed to break into my house but managed to steal one of my wheelbarrows which was outside costing about K500,” she added.
Meanwhile, Hamwinga’s brother Smart Ngoma said his sister could not go out with a person like Banda.
“That man is just a thief and everyone here knows him as a beggar who goes round people’s homes asking for food.
We are going to report him to the police right now, and I will use my lawyers to see to it that he appears before the courts of law for malicious damage to property and he will rot in jail,” said Ngoma

Surely the dog should have known him Hamwinga has been a long-time friend. How can it bite someone who was so concerned about it to the point of noticing that it had VD? This tonga lady should have just ended her relationship with Banda in a good manner instead of double crossing or is it a love triangle? On the other hand it is a good lesson for Banda, he thought he was a player but got played nastily instead. Furthermore, the same way he felt when he found another man with his girlfriend is the same way the wife felt when she was told about Hamwiinga.God answered the wife’s prayer in this way, a blessing in disguise.

Masautso’s story is straight forward, Elizabeth is lying through her teeth, if she has any. But Masautso uli kapuba, that woman saw the sun five years before you appeared on the planet earth and you expected her to be yours alone when she was the first to know what bonking is? Did you expect her to be waiting for you when you were with your wife?Just go and stay with your wife! ukutumpa ka Banda.
