The Zambia national women team has set the final camp in Lusaka to prepare for the African Women Championship; the first time ever that the Zambia team women will compete at Africa’s premier women football tournament.
The Chipolopolo Queens will continue preparations until departure for Namibia scheduled for 7th October for the finals which run from 11th October to 25th October. The top three teams at the finals qualify for the FIFA Women World Cup in Canada. Zambia faces hosts Namibia in the opener on the 11th and also plays Nigeria and Ivory Coast in Group A. group B has favourites South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, Cameroon, Ghana and Algeria. Zambia is scheduled to play another preparatory match against Cameroon. The team was thrashed 4-0 in the last friendly against South Africa at Nkoloma.
Zambian Football KICKOFF has commenced use of what we deem appropriate Chipolopolo Queens nickname for the Zambia women team as opposed to the widely used meaningless “Shepolopolo”.

I agree with MOJO that they should be called Chipolopolo Girls and not queens because the owners of the name are called Chipolopolo Boys who were the first to be named after a bullet.

Forget about stupid names queens, girls, or beaches whatever all we want is to come back with results and qualify to World Cup in short let them beaches emulate the little U17 Chipolopolo Princesses performance!
