19-year-old Elizabeth Bubala, who was shot by a Kitwe businessman on Saturday, says the incident was an accident.
And police in Kitwe have charged Francis Shindono with unlawful wounding after he accidentally shot Bubala in the head.
Police said Bubala usually goes to Shindono’s house in Kitwe’s Kwacha township to do part-time work.
Bubala, who has since been discharged from hospital, said there were no ill-motives attached to the incident.
“I usually go at that house for domestic pieceworks. I do house chores and wash clothes, then he pays me. Now on Saturday, he was checking his shotgun and it accidentally went off and I was hit in the head; and that’s how I sustained these injuries and I was rushed to the hospital,” narrated Bubala.
And police in Kitwe said investigations to verify the particulars of the shotgun were yet to be concluded although it had been established that the shooting was unintentional.

Oh gosh! Why check the gun while pointing in the direction of the poor Bubala. Can the police investigate this. The Police should not conclude that it was “established that the shooting was unintentional”. They need to do an inquiry, helllooo

This man should have removed the bullets before cleaning/checking his gun, otherwise he could have shot his own relative.

Or he would have shot himself.
