Three people have died while 45 others have survived in an accident on Bottom Road.
Among those who have died is Kelvin Siambole, Gweembe’s Cheezya ward councillor.
Both Siavonga Police and district hospital medical officer, Phallon Mwaba, confirmed the accident which happened in Siavonga’s Changa area on Saturday night.
The police said a light Toyota Canter driven by Mulenga Chidinka, 29 overturned following a tyre burst, killing three people on the spot.
The police said the victims of Sinafila village in Gwembe were travelling to Chirundu to attend a funeral.
And Mwaba said Nelly Siamunda, 56 and Mackson Kandombaile, 50 were also killed in the accident.
He said 25 others had been admitted at Siavonga district hospital and were in a stable condition while one was in a critical condition.
Mwaba said the bodies of the deceased were in the hospital mortuary awaiting burial today.
